Everything should be gray, except the TMC word. When you choose it, the other words should turn from gray to white and the TMC sign should appear a few secounds later.
It all works now, I have no idea what was happening before....

However, I now have taken delivery of my Resler Ibus device...what do I do with it? I have a USB port at one end and 4 pins at the other....no instructions with it, do I just plug it into something?

Plug the 4-pin plug into the CD changer plug in your car, observing correct polarity (GND = brown, 12V = red/green etc).
Plug USB into your laptop with a USB cable

Then you can use my NavCoder software to view the data in your car and regprogram nav settings to your hearts content

Download NavCoder, and read the Readme file. Run the program on your PC and you will see what it does - which is re-program the BMW nav computer.

What version nav do you have in your car?
