I think that issue of not all Nav DVD's being equal exists even with the same vehicle model. If you look at navteq's website for the latest and greatest maps for the X5 you will notice there are three flavors of 2007.2. One that is cd based for older model years, and 2 that are dvd based. One for 2003-2006 which is the "High DVD Map", and one for 2007 models which is the "Professional DVD Map".
