Hi there,

I think Bempie is reffering with "MID" to the dashboard language!
And like Jochen whas saying, it seems that the dash language cannot be put in dutch, simply because there is nowhere on this globe an e39,e38 with this language sold ever, maybe someone can write this to the rom or translate another language, but that's out of my league!
When talking with a bmw staffmember he told me that holland has manifesting to take dutch as an option, and BMW did but only in the later bmw's with the idrive.

I still hope for any solution, but it seems not happening

Regards

Joël

Ah... the 'dashboard' is the IKE or Instrument Cluster.

The Instrument Cluster can only present the text in one of 6 languages: GB, US, DE, FR, IT and ES

The closest you can get to what you want is Dutch on the Mk4 nav (menu + spoken) and English or German on the IKE.

The Mk3 nav never had NL as an official language, so if you have a Mk3 nav and wish to make it NL, you must translate all of the text yourself, using the Mk4 NL text as an example.

Misunderstanding from my side.
I thought that Multi Information Display was on the dashboard.
Sorry from my side, maybe I want to much at once.

One of these days I shall experiment further.

Thanks for clearifing this.

No probs. The dashboard text display is called the CHECK CONTROL and only supports the 6 languages like I showed above.
The text for the check Control display comes from:
1. Navigation
2. Instrument Cluster
3. Light Control Module
Whilst as you know the nav is easy to change, the Instrument Cluster and Light Control Module cannot be changed to anything other than the 6 languages they support.

Maybe you have a customised software version loaded where someone has translated some text into Dutch. What version is fitted?

This is a customisable setting that a dealer can program for you using the diagnostic tool. I would love to add this to NavCoder, I have yet to learn how.

I have firmware ver 29.1 loaded. It is a modded version with the M-logo.
After changing the language with Navcoder I choosed Dutch.
Speaking and main menu is Dutch. A part is German, and one part is English

I don't know if auto doorlock can be activated via I-bus.
It is activated with carsoft. It only has functioned one time.
Reading with the diagnostic tool gives that it is activated, but still not functioning.
I was just wondering if it is possible to get this working via I-bus.

One of these days I shall do it all over again. I am determent to have it worked correct.

PS:

Thanks for all help
