Hi, What you have is the following:

You navigation operating system has been modfiied so that the English text has been replaced by Dutch by someone. This is all the Dutch text you see.

The navigation map disc contains all the text for the REISINFORMATIE menus. The map appears to have had the Dutch 'Autovelox' added to it, but the person that added the info forgot to change all other menu text into Dutch. You can fix this bvy making a new map disc with the correct Dutch text

The TELEFOON I am not sure about - this may be text on the OS disc in the nav that was not changed (which you can fix), or it may be text generated by the telephone unit itself (which you cannot change).

I see your problem and recommend you try:
1) Make a new map disc with all the menus in Dutch

2) Determine what language was modified in your car - did they change English to NL, or German to NL?? Your instrument cluster self test may show you. Otherwise, you need to do a trial and error, or see which directoty on the map dis had the Autovelox added

3) for the Telephone you have to figure out where the language text comes from, and if from the phone, decide whether you want English or German.

Hi Kiwijochen.

Thanx for a really nice software. I just coded my TV to run in motion. Worked perfect

I have a small request if possible. Would it not be nice to be able to select from which unit you like to see the messages?
I'm usually work with heavy construction machinery and they are also packed with computers today.
There we have the possibility to select the ECU's we whant to see the "conversation" from for fault tracing purposes.

Just a thought....

I have started to add in a message filter. At the moment it is a simple 'Filter out device status request/ready' messages

I'd like to expand it to something like

"Show messages from <Any> to <Any>"
Then the user can select which device he wants to monitor

And that will prevent screen clutter

But I'd like to get another release out shortly, so I might wait a bit for the filter.

I've tested the navcoder yesterday. It's nice.

But I could not force a monocrome mk4 to work in color mode.

Is there someone who did it successfully?

I've changed a few by making a special OS disc that forces the nav into a mono-outputting-colour mode. You'll find my instructions in this forum - seach for threads posted by me to find it.

yes I've already tried it and it works that way.

but whenever you do an update with an original os disc it jumps back to monochrome again.

That is right. But at least you got it going.

I wish I knew how to properly recode it, but I don't fully know how

Jochen, is there a way to figure that out? for example by logging the process while bmw is recoding the nav?

What I see when trying to recode the nav with navcoder is, that the screen (which is black as it is monocrome mode) somehow blinks (like it gets an reset command) but nothing is displayed on the screen. And booting the os cd afterwards, does not change anything. the nav reboots after upgrade process and still seems to stay in monocrome mode.

That's is what happens to me either, screen blinks and then the os disc keeps spinning and i have to force it out, after that i cannot scan it with navcoder until i recode it with a original (not modified) v29.1
