Adding Speedcams on HIGH 07-2 image to big
I tried to import the speedcam data on a BMW DVD High 07-2 version. I use DVD decrypter, UltraISO and imported a .asc file for BENELUX which I converted with the Perl script. When I save the modded image file with UltraISO finally and step to the burning step, I notice that my image is slightly to big for the DVD-R. In UltraISO, the tool let me know that I still have 67Mb for free before saving the image. I tried to keep my speed_cam_icon an small as possible(16x16= less than 2KB). Anybody had the same problem or has an answer to resolve this? Can I maybe delete some .idx and .url algorithms that I don't want to use (for example golf clubs search,...) Many thanks |

Welcome to the forum.
Don't delete anything from the disc as this will make the disc unusable. This problem has come up before, i can't remember what the exact fault was but it was an error in the adding the extras to the disc. The only files that need added are ENG.LSC or GER.LSC (depending on what lang you are using) 0081.idx 0082.url SF_CAMERAS.HTM ST_CAMERAS.HTM POI_CAMERA.png CAMERA_SPLASH.JPG Total file size is approx 3.5MB, and as such the unmodded image and the modded image should be almost identical in file size. If you need a hand doing some of the conversions pm me and I'll try and help you out.

Hi,
The files that you described are the ones that I added. Up to this point I did not delete anything. I'm just not able to burn the disc. There is only one difference. The original image of the 2007-2 HIGH DVD that I have is 4.3GB(4.628.152.320 bytes). So there is little space to add the extra speed camera data. After saving in UltraISO i end up with 4.57GB, which I can't burn. Another difference is the number that I gave to the .idx and .url (0101.idx and 102.url) and applied those names in the files that I changed. I suppose this will not be the issue. The file size of the files I generated/changed SF_SPEEDCAMERAS 1,97kB ST_SPEEDCAMERAS 2,17kB ENG.LSC 16.9kB POI_SPEEDCAMERA.PNG 335 bytes poi_speed_camera.gif 947 bytes 0101.IDX 128kB 0102.URL 196kB Thanks for your reaction. |

File names are not an issue.
this is mine unmodded, 4.30 GB (4,628,152,320 bytes) modded 4.32 GB (4,640,909,312 bytes) something is going wrong some where, you are only adding the files to the ENG part of the dir structure, not all the lang dirs?

After you do the conversion
1) Rename CAMERAS.IDX to 0101.idx 2) Rename CAMERAS.URL to 0102.url 3) Modify the ISO image with these steps: a) Add camera_splash.jpg to the "\TPD\Icons" folder b) Add POI_CAMERA.PNG to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ICONS" folder. c) Overwrite the ENG.LSC file in the "\TPD\nccBeuFNM_eu_20070302\ENG" folder. d) Add 0101.idx to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ENG\TABLES\0" folder. e) Add 0102.url to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ENG\TABLES\0" folder. f) Add SF_SPEEDCAMERAS .HTM to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ENG\SE" folder. g) Add ST_SPEEDCAMERAS .HTM to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ENG\SE" folder. 4) Burn you modified ISO image to a DVD-R.

Which version of UltraISO do you use? I use the premium edition 8.6.3.2052.
Your description is exactly what I did, except for the small .png file which I added in 2 subdirectories "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ICONS\NAVI0X" and "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20070302\ICONS\RR" What are the settings of your image properties? Joliet, UDF ,extended ? Date/time changes? |

I had the same problem initially. It would seem the original ISO image is somehow more compact that a newly built ISO image. You want therefore to mess as little as possible with the original ISO image, so do not "unpack" (to hard disk) and "re-build" (from individual files and folders) the ISO image, but add and substitute (as few files as possible) to the original ISO image, all within the MagicISO or UltraISO environment (I use MagicISO, by the way).

Open the .iso with UltraIso and add (or overwrite) inside the compacted iso image then save, the use mgeburn to burn the new disc.

Hi all,
At a risk of being covering a question before.... Anyone know where I can get a torrent (or other means) for the new 2007-2 High (Europe)??? Please! Ideally one with the speed cameras! Thanks |

I used another version of ultraISO but it didn't resolve the issue.
Yes, I do everything in UltraIso itself, where I add the files in the dirs as discribed. To resume: I use DVD decrypter to read the ISO image that I burned without speed cams to my harddisk(this DVD works fine on my X5). (This process takes some time(more then an hour..??)) Then I use UltraIso to open the NAV_DB.ISO image. I get the directories DB and TPD, ... and then I add/replace the few files in UltraISO. When I want to burn the image I always see the image is slightly to big. What settings are you using in UltraIso as properties (optimize?, UDF, Joliet, extendend? I use the settings as described on http://www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk/default.htm Thanks |
