You are right Lupito, LCM coding is beta. But that is because it is sooo hard to make it work the same for all LCMs. My next version seems to work better - I tried it ona friends E46 a few weeks ago and it correctly read the coding - at least, all the settings made sense!

I was not so lucky like Jaycee today because of the same problem and did not knew his solution..... My Solution was the same as yours - disconnection of batery but of course this is not the most convinient way......

Anyhow THANK YOU for this program!!!! And good luck in future development ;-)

You know, I read that post so quick a few months ago I totally missed the clues - today is the first time I have seen it and realised what it meant to me.

Now that I have a solid clue and know what is happening I can do something about it!

And the culprit is

3F 04 7F 40 xx CS
DIA --> NAVE: Read adjustment value, Data= xx

It appears that when the diagnostic asks for this data from the nav unit, the request is also being interpreted (falsely) by the instrument cluster

Which would be a BMW bug

I think I will disable the ability to read the adjustment values for the time being, and then maybe add it back with some mechanism for the user to understand what is happening.

But if you'll disable this ability to read the adjustment could it have some negative reflection to the program's functionality?

Abolutely, disabling the ability to read the adjustment values would mean you would not be able to read the adjustment values.

Nothing more.

Self-calibration values that the nav determines for its own use.

Number of wheel pulses per km, Gyro voltage change error per xx degrees, that sort of thing. I don't have a copy of the text with me at the moment....

Also known in the auto industry as 'adaptive values'

But in this case (if we could not read this values) solution of Jaycee will not work, right? 'cause we'll not see this this code which was coded and which we can find now (like Jaycee wrote)..... And in this case would be only one solution - disconnection the baterry

am I right? could it happen that you'll disable this function but this bug will appear again?
