Yes i"ve gotten the disc out after turning on and off , I will try a different computer also mine says check burner or something like that .I tried with imageburn and alcahol 120 %..will retry again today.. thanks for the reply

I guess it must be the media i am using but still no luck its been a while still trying though, i used maxell cd-r ,maxell dvd-r , i tried v-27 all no luck the screen just flashes like its about to reboot then stays dark ,every minute or so it keeps flashing ......only once did i see anything on the screen ,and this is what it said ..............software update ..problem reading disc press ok to remove cd...after that nothing ...

Could be a bad laser or a bad drive unit. If it were me, I'd keep trying different disks. Not much to lose other than making a bunch of coasters.

i have the same problem with my MK4 E46 320d 2003 after upgrading, so i need help too!!! RAdio and CD changer work but the screen is blank!

Help please!

Did you ever verify the disc was error free and that the surface scan was good? By error free I mean counting the actual C1 and C2 errors?

Sometimes poor or old CD burners can create discs that might be OK for the PC but won't work in the car.

Maybe the computer will re-load the SW and restart.

Maybe it won't.

thank you all for your help ...you guys are the best ..loaded v31 succesfully and revived my navi , the problem i was having was due to the media that i was using, i burned it on sony r-rw media this time and it worked like a charm on the first try......i am now updated 4-1/00 thx again could not have don it without your help !!!!!

Hi Easroc,

can you describe how you made it? I have the same problem (after upgrade-ing screen is blank and flashes every 1-2 minutes).
