Z4 Navigation Maps
New member here. I am about to purchase a 2004 BMW Z4 and have a few questions. My main concern is that the car itself was imported from the UK (i am in australia) so it has the UK maps. The maps seem to be on a dvd. Can i just replace the map dvd with an australian map dvd or do i have to replace the entire sat nav? Also the odemeter is measuring miles. Can i change this to kilometers? Thank you in advance. -Alan

Thank for the prompt reply. If the GPS unit works then i'm extremely happy
 My brother has an E46 so i'll test it out using his maps.The UK cluster has both miles and kilometers on the speedo which i'm fine with. The odometer i guess i can live with. Guess i'll just have to do the math for my log books Since i'm relatively new to the bmw scene and z4's is there anything i should look out for before purchasing?

Most if not all X4s have the runflat tyre system with the tyre failure indicator - look for the symbol of a flat tyre on a button next to the gearshift Other options that can appear: headlight washer/cleaners (good in Europe, not much value in Oz) boot mesh net to hold down loose items Look for complete set of manuals, tool kit, and KEYS! You should have 2 x master keys, plus a valet key. Maybe an emergency key too. IMPORTANT: Look for a dot next to the odometer readout. This is the tamper indicator and highlights if the odometer has been altered. You can also get the chassis number (last 7 digits of VIN) and go to BMW and get the original factory option list printed out, as was fitted to the car in the factory. This is worthwhile.
