One helpful hint that I experienced when upgrading to V32...

I put the imaged CD in my nav computer, and I only got a black screen on the LCD. I did hear normal "read" drive noise so I decided to hang tight for a bit. About two minutes later, the CD ejected. I then put the map disc in and started the car. The LCD then showed an "Update Successful" screen.

So if anyone experiences that, don't freak out, just be a little patient.

Voice Data

Hello guys
I'm very keen to upgrade my MkIV nav to V32.
Before I do, can anyone tell me if the voice data is part of the V32 firmware, or is it on the Map disk?
I live in Australia, and my nav system has a quite acceptable language and accent for this part of the world. I don't want to lose that and be replaced by either another language, or other accent of English language.

Does anyone kmow?

thanks

the voice data is part of the firmware, and the v32 update does not have 'australian' language... it only has American and GB for english... I would say the british is pretty close to australian...

Voice is on the OS, not map

If you have a standard OS loaded, then the voice will not change.

Loading a new OS will not change the existing settings, ie: the loaded languages will remain exactly the same after the OS update

MKIV is now referred to as DVD-Top Navigation (10.0). Ver. 30 was the last time they called it MKIV DVD navigation on the SI B.
