All seemed to work ok, but I'm not seeing any POI's on the screen. Am I missing something obvious, or is there anything else I can check?

Really impressed with the effort that has gone into this - if only I could get it to work!

Many thanks.

I persevered and finally got this working...very pleased with it

With regard to the Camera POI's is POI Plaza the best place to get them as I have a couple of issues with them. It goes off every day I drive down my road for a camera that doesn't exist which is a little annoying.

Is there anywhere else I can get a good up to date file either free or paid for?

Also, am I correct in assuming the sound activates on distance and is not directional? It sometimes goes off when driving 'near' to a camera but on a completely different road.

Great effort though, make the BMW Nav Really useful

Red face Problem to open DB files with poison

Hello gentlemen !
Congratulations for the job that has been done to improve our NAV !
Speed cameras are so numbered in France !
Up to now, I used the "old method" to implement speed camera in my nav (by adding new POI, and edition of relevant files).
I would like of course to work as it is proposed in this post, with addition of sound.
Unfortunatly, even after reviewing the complete 22 pages, I still not be able to open DB files with poison, I've always the same result "Unable to open database files".
I've tried with different versions of GTK (currently 2.14), but always the same result.
I've tried with DVD High 2009-01, also with previous versions 2008-2 and 2007-2 and even replay the complete sequence on another computer, but always unsuccessfully.
I've copied the original DB directory (with the 4 files as mentioned in the beginning of the subject) under GTK/bin with poison program as it was proposed in different posts, but it's the same.
Any idea to explain what can be done to solve my problem ?
Could the program have any restriction while running under windows in french language (dot point configured in control panel)?
Thanks in advance !

If using DVD based database: Copy Bibliography file and the whole DB directory to a new directory in your hard disk. Modify attributes of all files thus copied to "non read only". Then proceed with PoiSon in the normal way. Direct PoiSon to load database from your new directory (where you just copied the Bibliography file).
Hope this helps.

You have to put DB_0 and DB_1 in a folder named DB (the same layout you have in your original DVD).

Smile Map edition OK

Thanks for your support, I finally succeeded to edit map files (only Pb of files attributes) !
It was OK at the beginning, but when I reinstalled correct version of GTK and re-extract DB directory, I forgot to modify once more "non read only" !
Let's go ahead on the next steps. I hope I'll be more efficient !

Remove camera from the database manually, use something like googlemaps and similar and locate the X,Y co-ordinates and then search the DB and remove.

Correct, it's a bubble round the car, anything insider the bubble will trigger the alert (even if it's on the wrong road).
