Thnaks mate,

You did patch it though yes?

Well, it is NOT patched, and this is what I am going to do next. But I still can not undertsand why the procedure followed fort 2009-1 does not work with 2009-2. Yes the DB appears to load POIs as military bases.

What is the procedure to patch the OS? I have already changed the military base icon, but I guess there is till something more to do...

Thanks again

Maybe the 2009-1 disc was loading the POI via the POI menu and this gave the illusion of the camera being loaded.

The poison mods are a 2 stage process and do the following;

1: patch the navboot.
- a: auto enable the military bases to be loaded at startup
- b: enable the military bases to use the audio string, #9
- c: replace the tank icon with camera icon

Also needed
- a: add an alert to audio string #9

2: patch the map disc.
- a: import camera locations direct into DB.

Once the above has been done, then that's it.

All cameras (loaded via poison) are auto displayed and have the alert.

Edit the navboot with navtweak for all your mods, then run the patch (in the same dir as navtweak), that's it,

One last thing,

I do NOT wish the sound alert, I am happy with the icon display only. Is then a different procedure to patch the OS in this case?

THX

Easy, use the patch but don't edit the language.csf file.

The patch just setups up the navboot.

Just out of interest, why bother, the whole point of the POIson hack is to have an audio alert??

If you just want the icon, use PMN or the POI menu hack.

Sometimes it seems we "loop"...

YES, indeed, this is what I was trying to achieve BUT, as mentioned earlier, it did work with 2009-1 but it did/does NOT work with DAMN 2009-2 !!!!

I know PMN and I'm trying to get a copy. Do u refer to a specific procedure when u say POI menu hack?...maybe I am missing something...

It's a strange one, its the same process for both the discs, so I don't know why it wont work.

Editing the ITA.LSC (eng.lsc for me) file for extra POI options.

I am not sure what/where to operate into LSC file. I can open it with word or hex editor but do not know where to add lines and "pointer (??)"

Hi everybody,
as known (to all of you) after about 35thousand questions I was able to do it by myself. Edited my .lsc file added new POIs categories, screen and so on..so I have my very personal DVD HIGH 2009-2!!
Now..is anybody able to explain how the asc2mk4_igh.exe and asc2idxurl_mk4.exe handle the .asc format file of POI to get the .idx and .url files required by the BMW system?.....Thanks
