Hey Guys, I need some help.My friend has a 2001 E39 530i and he had the MKII or MK II DVD nav unit in it with 16:9 monitor from the factory. Today we got a used MK IV unit and fittid it int he car and installed the latest V31 software and everything is normal appart from the MAP. When i go into the service menu it says RECEIVER ERROR for the GPS Status. Can you guys help and give us some advice please? We fitted all the connection including the blue and burgundy connectors and GPS antenna in the back of the MK IV. I have attached a pic of the error as well. Thanks a lot Fellas.

Fit your old nav and confirm that the antenna is OK

If the antenna is good, then the GPS receiver inside the Mk4 is faulty.
You can replace the GPS receiver if your wish, or talk to the seller...

Open lid
Remove old GPS receiver
Fit new GPS receiver
Close lid

Easy, minimum of tools required.
