Nav DVD type question for E70 owners.
DVD Professional 2009.1 65 90 2 147 677 (DVD-CCC) DVD Professional 2009.1 65 90 2 165 623 (DVD5-CCC) Does anyone know what the difference is between the two? I've attached a photo showing the two side by side. Some sources claim the first is the latest one, others claim the second one is the latest one. There is also an SIB discussing the second one (see attached SIB 652104) |

I think that the original is "DVD Professional 2009.1 65 90 2 147 677 (DVD-CCC)". That is is DVD-9 single sided dual layer DVD that can fit up to 8.5 GB.
The other one, Professional 2009.1 65 90 2 165 623 (DVD5-CCC), appears (from it's name) to be a DVD-5 which is a single sided single layer DVD that can hold up to 4.7 GB. Maybe there's some DVD drives that have problems with the DVD-9 (i.e. the dual layer) format? BMW must have cut some POIs to fit Pro 2009.1 onto a DVD-5 but it wouldn't have taken much cutting to get it down to that level. |
