You also need the key CD when you are at a low version on a MKIII. Find it on Neil Oakley's site.

software update blank screen

have the same problem after v32 update,blank screen,red light on mk4 is off can hear it reading/writing but nothing on screen.radio cd tape all work though.disconnecting battery did nothing.i burned with clone cd and checked for errors before loading,anyone have an answer,thanks

You have either a corrupted OS, or a mk4 that was for the mono nav system (that have been converted to colour), that has revereted to ist defauly.

load a new OS or check the nav type with navcoder

i don't have nave coder,by new os do you mean an earlier version as the the one i just tried was the latest

yes, either a v30 or v31 mate.

update

so not being patient enough to wait for the oem disc to arrive i decided to download the original v25 software that was on it before my attempted upgrade and it worked...nav is back to life but now the color scheme has changed to a brownish silver and i can no longer access the gps secret menu by going to settings and holding down the menu key
