I did lower the software ones to v25 because i had already installed V26 but wanted the other one with the different start-logo.

This did'nt help

Do you want the logo, or the system to work? I know my choice!

It's odd that there are differing experiences with this. In my X5 I have full use of the Info and Select buttons, proper ETA calculations, Perspective mode, and a custom splash screen.

As I was saying earlier, with the right combination of hardware it all works really well, however with mixed and matched systems you start to find the bugs and issues. I too have the option of whatever I want, but my system is fully matched BM54 & MKIV (factory wiring loom etc).

I'm surprised you haven't had an ETA issue with this setup. I have a 2004 X5 with Comms Pack (MKIV and 01/2004 BM54) and had big issues with the ETA which required a recode.

The ETA issue is not obvious until you try a longer route but you can tell if you have the problem by going into the Set menu, and holidng the menu key for 8 - 10 seconds. In the telematics data if you don't have X5 listed as the car type then your system has gone into OEM mode (some call it Euro mode but it isn't an accurate description) and your car needs recoding. This seems to always occur after a downgrade of NAV OS firmware e.g. V26 --> T26.09A or V25 or earlier.

I would be worried if it said X5, as I have a E39! Euro mode is also good for me, as I'm in Europe!

Seems to default back to 7er - I have an E46 which has now also lost the VIN and has been set to 7 series.

Car is in next week in Jersey CI, so I will ask for a recode back - and perhaps get the genuine V27 if they have it.

Hehe! Yes that would be a bit of a worry!!

I'm in the UK and Euro/OEM mode is not so good if it removes the telematics data. The coding has to be for the car type and not just region for everything to work spot on! What is yours set to just out of interest?
