Not sure any of that will be a deal breaker for the first initiated. ;)

:iagree: I also don't believe that the screen will require significant pressure since it works via the electricity in your fingers.

One thing for sure i won't have to worry about it for quite a while. I'm stuck with Verizon for now. No complaints about that cause it will prevent me from giving in to the iPhone wave.

I was going to buy one immediately, then I spoke with a Cingular rep.

He told me, not confirmed yet. That the email is not "Push" email, like the way we get email on our Blackberries. The only service that AT&T Iphone, has cooperation with is Yahoo Mail. Not even Mac mail will auto forward to your phone in a timely fashion..

Again I have to confirm this but I believe email through the iPhone will be less than great.

Jobs specifically said that since the iPhone supports IMAP and POP if the IMAP option is selected then it can connect to Exchange. This is the only way, for the time being, it can connect to Exchange. I would be extremely surprised if ANY store personnel have advanced information other than what Apple has already published.

I learned my lession back in 2001 when the first gen iPod came out. So, first if the iPhone is available in other carriers other than AT&T....second, more 3rd party apps support.

Currently, all the apps I need to use is really only available on Palm OS.

I agree the iPhone looks slick. So did the first gen iPod, but now that I have the video iPod, my original iPod looks archaic.

Also, iPhone is only supported by the slower EDGE on AT&T vs. my EV-DO on VZW. I still need decent speed access via the internet to access business e-mail and my work place remote access to important data.

As much as I love the OSX interface and the slick interface of the iPhone, it doesn't meet my needs.

Good luck to everyone who gets one.

Hopefully the iPhone's bluetooth supports BMW Bluetooth.

ditto what kewl said.. once on evdo rev a with goodlink then we're talking... have to wait for corporate email (bb or goodlink integration). everything else isn't good enough for me in terms of biz use...

just a very cool touchscreen ipod phone right now... which a treo 700p can do (same with moto q and other smartphones, but without touch screen)

BTW, Google Maps and YouTube works fine on my Treo. Been using Google Maps since last year. The mobile version of YouTube just came out earlier this month for the Treo.

Been doing SMS/E-mail/Calendar/Contacts/MP3 player/Multimedia/Slinging with my Slingbox on my Treo already.

I agree that the iPhone does it in a more slicker way.

Anyhow, enjoy your iPhone. Just curious how sturdy it is when you drop it....

agreed with adam and charles. Great interface but connection speeds and lack of true Exchange push integration or goodlink integration will keep corporate business users from making the jump. I spoke with the product manager at apple (friend of John and I) and they are working on it.
