I didn't have time to look before braking, that's the only choice I had. I couldn't take my eyes off his eyes watching me barreling down on him.

Here's how close it was. Maybe it was more than a foot but damn, someone was watching over me.

Holy crap, L!! That was a bit too close for comfort! Glad both you and the other guy are OK. Thank God for BMW's MONSTER brakes!

L!! I just saw the picture. Holy cow! That is way too close for comfort. I am glad that your okay. I agree with lots of people's opinion - it's the person that is behind the wheel and knowing your vehicle that counts.

The biggest concern, as mentioned above, is people behind you not being able to stop in time. In my opinion, its often those American muscle cars that have the worst brakes in proportion to their acceleration abilities. The rotors on the Mustang I had were the size of milk bottle caps.

I have put my brakes to the test many times while doing 100+ and a vehicle pulls out into the left lane. Not one time have they ever faded or failed to perform.

Glad your ok....did he happen to mention how or why he shot across traffic?

cmyX6go 02-11-2008 11:21 AM

He didn't say, I didn't ask. I believe he veered onto the shoulder and over reacted when he realized and jerked the wheel way to hard.
