Dunno about the arm wrestle, but I am on the same bleacher row as JCL, Haigha, et al...
as I've posted before, anyone that doesn't feel that the "climate", micro, macro and global, is not going through some period of climate change is whistling in the dark, imo. Whether or not these changes are induced or exacerbated by humans, or burning fossil fuels, or pollution or, depleting the ozone layer or, Al Gore or...isn't really my point. "Things", especially the "climate", are different, or have shifted/changed, and are more chaotic to my perception, just in the blink of an eye that the 62 years of my little life constitutes as "time". Don't know all the "causes" and don't know how to fix those changes or, if we can even slow them down at this point. Maybe it is simply a "period" of change and more chaotic weather...but, for anyone to really feel that the climate and conditions and weather, at any level(s) of observation, are not evolving, is naive, imo. And we also haven't learned yet that many of our attempts at "fixing" things tends to make the situation worse. It's all in an effort to preserve OURSELVES and just about nothing else (well, that's quite true, species WE deem cute and cuddly and therefore worth saving). There are natural warming and cooling periods throughout history. if we fight global warming (not saying we shouldn't change our energy ways to self-sustaining methods) and then it goes into a natural cooling cycle, now accelerated by our combating global warming, we could really fubar ourselves.
Oh well, the weekend is finally here and time to work on that intravee/alpine/spec dock install :) |
