The climate changes constantly. Ice cores show theses changes over billions of years. Nothing new here. Whether man has an impact here is certainly a worry. But don't think warming or cooling trends are new. We are in an interglacial period and could just as easily
slip into another ice age.

The ice cores do indeed show these changes over billions of years. They even show these kinds of changes over tens of thousands of years. What they don't show is these kind of changes over several decades, which is what we are now seeing. The rate of change is far far faster than what has ever happened before.

Wow, gone for a few days and saw my thread grow. As usual, everyone wants to make it political. I'm not trying to deny climate change...in fact, Motordavid sums it up perfectly.

My point is that there some people making money out of this is wrong....

Chairman: you made the original post political by posting about Al Gore in Washington and linking to the political polemic and rant by the laughable John Coleman.

Do a little research and you will find that Coleman is not taken seriously by the vast majority of the scientific community.

I expect the patently false statements by Wagner such as an equal number of scientists disagree about anthropogenic causes of global warming. Wagner's uninformed opinions and worthless posts led me to put him on ignore years ago. I only saw his "equal" post in this thread quoted by someone else.

I think its a natural cycle. "curing" global warming is like prescribing cigarettes to lose weight, or a 55 MPH speed limit. Pointless. Stops politicians from California from bitching for a half an hour, and life sucks for a while until someone realizes it was all a joke.

Watch them find a "reversal" and convert everything to "reverse" global warming. Welcome to the new ice age, bitches.

Just so you know, in the 12 years that the 55 MPH speed limit was in place, highway fatalities dropped by more than 50%.
