Yeah no doubt it'll be interesting to see his actual playing time and how that all pans out.. But I gotta believe at some point that he will get his shot. I mean there are absolutely horrendous QB's in the league that are starters, not to mention back ups. (See Kansas City Chiefs, every damn QB on the roster before we signed Matt Cassell and gave him top of the line $$ who I'm still not sold on)

I think he will be used primarily at a position other than QB. He was never a good QB, but he is an athlete. I can see him coming in as a WR, RB or as some sort of gimmick QB a few times a game for a wildcat play or something like that. He was never a good passer and sitting in jail for 2 years couldn't have helped. Plus he would have to get back into the mindset of running an offense and knowing every play in the teams book. I would be surprised if he ended up being a starting QB for any significant period of time.

He didn't play in 2007 or 2008. 1+1=2. A suspension is a suspension. That is why they call it a reinstatement.

Vick would be a "Red Zone" option. Like Tim Tebow in his freshman year.

Not really, but nice bending of the context. Exactly how would he play in the NFL when in jail? Again, the NFL did nothing to him...so since a Federal imprisonment isn't justification for removal from duty for more than 3 months...Stallworth, and the Bengals should be in good shape :) It's called a reinstatement because he was removed for 3 months....

I agree. The league suspended him because of his actions. The suspension just ran simultaneoulsy with the prison sentence.

Now, if the league wants to suspend him further or ban him for life, that is their right as well. There are plenty of companies that wont hire a felon. Why should the NFL be any different?

Lets not go backwards now.. Vick's been re-instated..End of story. He'll be cleared to play fully, no later then week 6, quite possibly much sooner then that once Goodell re-evaluates when week 1 gets near.. Whether he actually gets on the field is another story...

Could be...it'll be interesting to see..

The NFL allowing him to play is akin to harboring a fugitive.

The depth of his crimes extends beyond fighting. Those animals were abused in every facet of their life. From the emotional terror, physical human abuse all the way the 'rape stands' not tomention the actual fights.

His and the other's involved depravity and complete disrespect for innocent life is astounding. He and his cohorts had turned the focus of the entire Vick compound into the prodcution and sport of fight dogs. They were in deep, deliberately and for profit.

If the NFL were operating with a moral compass they would display him compensating in an appropriate fashion. Community service directly relating to the animals and him growing emotionally. Some actually sincere public statement where he can prove cognizance of the crime and how he has changed. (Show that he actually understands why it was wrong beyond legal terms.) That you, Joe Public, shouldn't do it.

But the NFL has become another profit first operation. Greed is driving their decisions. They have made no effort to go past the superficial. Doing the morally correct thing is not the profitable choice. This is an opportunity to really set a standard and make a great statement. Instead, they are rolling the dice that there will be an increase in overall revenue with him playing vs not playing. It's disgusting and is hopefully a harbinger of their doom.

The NFL is an antiquated, overpaid bastien of primadonna's and spoiled millionaires. Once they had standards that extended into the American communities. Once.
