Michael Vick to be honored as hero

Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

calling him a 'hero' might be over doing it...but he should be acknowledged for what he has done and doing since his suspension...

Nice dig, Quick! Its funny to see everyone's reaction and predictions from a year and half ago on this topic; e.g., he won't be a QB for too long, no team is gonna want to sign him, will people pay to watch him play, he will be a shadow of his former self, doubt that he will actually play. Funny stuff in retrospect. BTW, Where is Wagner? I like to get his take on Vick now since Vick is playing top notch football for his beloved Eagles.

Before you make a decision you should read this Vick, Reid speak optimistically about Eagles future - Philly.com

It is just a matter of time before old Ronnie Mexico does something stupid...again. He really can't help it though. He is a career thug. Has it even been 12 months since he was at the scene of a shooting or something? He is a good athlete for sure, but I don't think he will have the success at QB he had last year ever again. I guess we will see. Pretty sure he fell off bigtime as the year went on. Unfortunately, he is not strong enough mentally to succeed at the position of quarterback for a sustained period of time. He is a follower, not a leader.

Quicksilver 03-07-2011 01:18 AM

FSETH; Do you know Michael Vick?

Thunder22 03-07-2011 10:31 AM

The animal shelters and people who saved and adopted the animals that he harmed should be honored as heros.

Of course they're going speak optimistically about it, the Eagles slapped the franchise tag on him. Kolb must be pissed.

Quicksilver 03-07-2011 01:08 PM

Correct;

Which is my point. If you slap the franchise tag on a player then my guess is that somebody thinks he has his game together and he's going to be their leader on
the field. I aint buying the hero thing and he needs to avoid it, stick to football, keep his nose clean, and prove his critics wrong.

MURDER & TORTURE. Let's not forget.

The interview effectively says "hero" is someone who corrects their mistakes. The anchor I think correctly defines in general those like veterans of war.

He is no hero.

Would he also have done all he has to redeem himself if he wasn't put in jail first? One could argue he has come a long way (if he really has sincerely changed his ways) but his sins against the innocent and helpless are and always will be repugnant at a minimum.

He. Is. No. Hero.
