Anyone have any feedback on them? I currently have a Pentax Optio S5i but have not been entirely happy with the quality. I realize I am sacrificing quality by the small size but I am hopping that one of the three above might be better.

Congrats. Best point & shoot digital camera IMHO are Canons. I have a Canon S500 and takes great shots. Love the new SD-series which are much thinner and due to using SD memory card instead of the CF in my S500.

Very nice SG. I love my SD400. It's a great size and the quality of the camera itself is excellent. It has a nice solid feel with an actual metal case. The pics turn out great too. The software is pretty good and there is minimal shutter lag. The camera boots up pretty quick.

The SD550 is noticeably thicker and heavier than the SD400 though. I opted for the SD400 because of it's size, 5.0 MP is plenty good, and the price was right. I bought it from Costco for $300. Sold a Canon A70 for $100 to offset the $300 and I still have a Canon A80 and a Minolta DiMage 7i, oh and a crappy ass HP I like to keep in the X5 just in case.

I don't know about you guys but I would definitely opt for a high speed SD card. Some people don't think they are necessary but I did a side by side with my friend's SD400 using a Sandisk Ultra 1G and my SD400 using a Kingston 256 MB and his was a few seconds faster. I say it's worth the extra bucks.

Wow! That is a great price on a great camera! Congrats on the new camera. You will definitely love it :thumbup: I have my SD500 for about 6 months now and would not trade it for anything else...well...except may be for that SD550 that has the larger LCD screen :)

You should definitely consider investing in some larger SD high speed cards and an extra battery, though. That 512mb card would get depleted quickly, especially if you use the short movie feature (a 2GB card can only hold 16 minutes of 30FPS video). And at its highest resolution, each picture would go anywhere between 2MB-3.5MB...so a panarama picture could easily end up being 16MB-20MB in size!

Hey Curtis! How's the 6er doing?

I can't be really specific but I would avoid Sony digicams. They are sure cool looking and stylish but I am very skeptical about the quality. It seems to me that Sony makes some very slick cameras but they are almost too delicate. I also find that there is too much shutter lag with their cameras. I have recently played around with my brother's T1 and I was not impressed. It was slow and actually a little cumbersome to hold and operate.

I have been very impressed with my SD400. The battery life is phenomenal and the picture quality has been excellent. I mostly like the form factor and easy of use re: controls and software.

Thos Canons are something else...I still have my s400 with dings and everything..forget about the picture, Ive dropped this thing off of an aircraft carrier, and it still keeps on trucking..The amount of dust and sand and bangs its been through, Im surprised it even turns on...I hope the newer ones are as, or more durable..
