Mediabridge will not integrate with other smartphones on a music standpoint through a wired connection, only via A2DP if you choose the Bluetooth option. |
Could one use a eas media bridge connected to the changer harness and still use the bmw rear seat entertainment dvd player, via the aux input on the media bridge.
I looked over at the schematics. I cannot understand why BMW says if you have BMW rear seat entertainment you cannot have the cd changer. The only thing I can think of is the 1 aux input on the mid or or nav radio. can anyone confirm.. |
So I'm now running a MediaBridge, feel free to ask me any questions!
I have a 2002 X5 w/DSP but w/o Nav. I had to install both the DICE DSP converter and the DICE Mediabridge 1500. First I'd like to say thanks to EAS for answering all my questions and shipping the products out quickly.
Installation was very easy, I did have to tap into two wires for the DSP adapter converter but even that was very easy. The MediaBridge itself is completely plug-and-play. Running the wire for the microphone is very easy. This. Thing. Rocks. I'm mainly using it for its Bluetooth functions since I don't have an Ipod. I am able to listen to Pandora (at near-CD quality) easily and completely wirelessly via my Android cellphone. I can easily and safely accept incoming calls from my steering wheel. As a suprise bonus to me, I can even place calls now using the default Call button on my steering wheel. It is very easy to setup the Bluetooth and connects quickly once the car is turned on. The audio quality is excellent, better than radio but not quite CD quality (it is important to note though that I have not tried to listen to anything at CD level quality yet! Just Pandora and 128k Mp3s). Now on to the bad. The unit can only display 12 characters on the MID display, so it's not taking full advantage of the display - this is something I knew before purchasing it. It can also be displayed on the OBC display in the gauge cluster if you like. There are lots of options on the MediaBridge unit as well, I'm still in the learning curve right now. I know the unit seems expensive at around $380, however it provides a great level of functionality to my old but otherwise very capable X5. Oh one last thing, call quality. Everything sounds fine on my end, but my callers have said that there is a constant background noise. It has not caused ANY problems with them hearing me, even when I'm slurring my words. They just mention that it's not as clear as if the microphone is at my face (figures). Ask any questions! -Cyrus |

Tom,
Very interested in a 1500BT for my 2002 X5 3.0 (no nav). Some questions: 1) Will I need a DSP adaptor? I don't have DSP button on my MID (not premium sound pack) and the part#65128379376 is on my amp. I have not been able to verify if this amp is DSP or non-DSP. 2) Where does the Dice mic install? I have found installation illustrations of the Dice unit to the center console, but running Dice wires/mic to BMW's prewired mic location seems difficult. In advance, thanks |
