Hey guys long time no talk.....I had to come to the navi experts with a question!

I just bought a 2005 645Cic today and it didn't come with the navi DVD. Do I need one in order to run this new version?

Can I take the DVD out of my wife's X5, burn it, run it, and then do this upgrade? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

No, the nav disks are a totally different format. You need a disk for the "CCC" system. It is printed on a green background instead of the blue background used for the MKx navigation disks.

Exactly right; I just saw your post after I tried my wife's X5 Navi DVD into my new 6 and no luck. :(

Off to eBay or somewhere to find a DVD.

There are two things you need to do :

1) Activate Perspective capability in the hidden menu (press and hold the menu button for 10 seconds while in the settings screen).
2) Select "Perspective" from the "Map Direction" option.

Thanks for the responses guys... I didn't know there was a step two (i.e., go into the Map Direction option to select Perspective). Now it works! Think I still prefer the Pointing North orientation though...

Off-Topic as this relates to my 6 but....

I bought a Navi DVD for my 6 from eBay, and...................it already has the Perspective view.

I might try the upgrade for my wife's X5 now, and get a new splash screen. :)
