Seemed to be more of an issue for those that went to the V26.09 beta. See http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...6-09-beta.html for info.

If you plan to do the language change then you can do the splash screen change at the same time to create your own custom V27 update disk. If you are willing to forgo the language change, I can send you a link to a V27 with the custom splash screen.

That'd be great if it's already done - i don't really need the language, just wanted to try it out. Please send the link if you've got it! Thanks!

I booked my car in to be coded and V27 put on (as they have the disk now) to fix the euro issue and the dealer said that BMW said not to use the V27 now as they have encountered some faults and an update to this version will be approx 1 month away.

Any one else heard this?

Have recently enjoyed reading through your brilliant forum, and finally registered myself.
About to upgrade my M3 MKIV from v26 to v27 and would LOVE the ///M startup logo. Could you send me a link how to do the necessary changes on the V27 disc to get that? Or what is required to get to that?

hello

I recently upgraded my mk4 to v.27.
I have a problem: I noticed that my navi needs now a lot of time to know the car position and sometimes it blocks :tsk:
with v.26 I never had problems.
Noone had problems with v.27 ?
Thanks all!

Francesco

I'm beginning to believe there's a gps position lock issue with v27. I've had my gps suddenly loose all satellites on 3 seperate instances now. These all happened while driving where the car was previously in GPS mode. In all instances, my display went from "GPS" to "bare earth" (no satellite dots). Going into service mode showed the GPS in "satellite search" mode. Almanac data was in use but the SNR screen showed zeros for all satellites. Mysteriously, after leaving the car in the parking lot and returning later in the day, the problem had vanished. A quick check of all connections to my GPS unit showed no problems and I can't believe that I had a hardware problem crop up whose timing was precisely coincidental with the time I did my v27 upgrade.

I'm betting this is a firmware issue based on other posters who have seen the same situation crop up. This may also be why CortinaD's service advisor said that BMW is advising not to install v27. Interestingly, although I'm not sure how, this may somehow be related to the 2006.2 DVD that I now have loaded which I recently purchased from NavTek.

I'm now eagerly awaiting v28...

Hey man

Im using the Australia disc V10. I notice that my satellites dropped of also the other day (V27) and when I go into the service menu it shows the receiver version but 0.0.0 for date. under version 26 it remember shows both.

I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and all was well.

sleuth255 04-20-2006 06:06 PM

@CortinaD:

Mine shows the same for date (all zeros) so that may be normal. The problem corrected itself on mine too; no disconnect was necessary. I shut the car off and left it locked in the parking lot and when I returned to drive home about 4 hours later, everything was fine again. On all of the three times I had this issue happen to me, it fixed itself.
