STUPID QUESTION...so, i downloaded V30. Its a .RAR file.
Do i need to convert the file to another format (if so, what and with that tool), or do i just put in the CD with the .RAR file into the MKIV..?

Hi!

Rubin said, what to do!

Do YOU know the sentence:
"The person, that can read, has got a graet advantage!" ???

Read the whole thread - and you have the answer to your question!

It is boring, to repeat posted facts again and again and again ......

Hi!
of course: NO!

What do you do normally with a *.RAR-file?????
Correct! You unpack it!

Then you will have to burn the unpacked files with alcohol120% to a cd.

And then you can put the burned cd in the MKIV .......

HI,
i went through the PDF, and it seem like the update works on the E46, but bare with me little more... does this update work on all regions BMWs or is it for a specific region, i have a GPS function on the car and i dont want to loose it or loose any of the other features after the upgrade process

You can update you car nav with v30, region coding os not chanched with soft update.
You can only get problems if your MK unit was factory mono and aftermarket updated to color

Hello,

I currently have Sw4 1/80 installed (this is v28?)
I have a Belgian X5 with dutch satnav interface.
but my BC is german (example "Uhr 22:13", "reichw 722km")
When I update to v29.1, what will change?

With an english interface i would not have a problem.
But will other things change?

example:

KM => miles
EU version to USA? (dont know the difference)
Will I have an "accept" screen ?

Or will it only be the language?

Otherwise i will not update because i dont have an IBUS Interface to change this.

Thank you very much

EDIT: Is it possible to change the language or the region with navtweak? and how??

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered previously. If so, I couldn't find it. I have MkII, 1/28 and trying to upgrade. Downloaded v30 .rar and unpacked it, which contained two files:

NAV_SW.mdf
NAV_SW.mds

I burned these to a CD, but the nav just spits it back out. I know I obviously did something wrong, but what?

The files are to be burned with image software such as alcohol120% Imgburn and so on, eaven Nero has the function advanced, burn image then open the file and burn
