It might be OK, but before you stick the disc in your nav I'd wait for one of the experts on here to comment on those results.

I didn't go that in-depth as I've no idea where to find C1/C2 error info in Nero, ImgBurn or MagicISO

By the way, time for a question for you, how do you capture screenshots like that?

Hi, I have a X5 3.0i imported from UK, the Nav is 4-1/50, I bought a Map CD which contain Malaysia and Singapore Map, insert into the dvd drive, it work instantly BUT is 2D, Could any one share with me if I could upgrade to 3D?? do it need to change the Map cd too? thanks..

Jaycee 10-05-2008 11:29 AM

loksim - you are in the same position as psyxologos, 3D (or Perspective view) came in with 4-1/60 so to get that you will need to update. What version is your map disc and is it a CD or a DVD?

The different software updates and the effects they had can be found HERE.

Thanks for that. I will wait and see what the people in this forum say. Screenshots can be obtained from nero DVD/CD speed after the results show up. You have to click on a save icon on the top right of the box and then click paste on micrsoft paint or similar.

Hi Jaycee,
Appreciate your reply, I check the disc, it's blank, no label, not sure is cd or dvd, do you know how to check?

psyxologos 10-06-2008 08:07 PM

updated today. Worked like a treat. I am a happy chappy!

Loksim - Update your unit to 4-1/00 as psyxologos has done and see how your map disc works after that. If the disc is blank who knows what it is. :dunno:

psyxologos - Excellent, we await your views on Perspective view. We can then give you a few more options using Navtweak!

psyxologos 10-06-2008 08:27 PM

I had a quick look when I updated. It is fine! What I enjoy the most is the change in colours. This is quite a significant improvement...

What do you mean you will give me a few more options using Navtweak?

As far as I understand, Navtweak is a program that changes the map software to add pictures, change colours etc. But to do this i have to

a) buy the Navtweak software

b) rip a map disk and add these features.

What sort of changes are we talking about? Aesthetic changes or operational ones?

Jaycee 10-06-2008 09:11 PM

psyxologos - NavTweak is used to change parts of the 'navboot' file that is on the v32 disc you burned, and not map discs. It can be downloaded from the link in the first post HERE. I believe it's still free to use.

Check out post number 93 HERE for the Perspective view "Angle Wing", I changed the pointer on mine and aesthetically it is infinitely better. The open section at the top provides a clear view of the road ahead. You can also change your splashscreen, there are lots of options HERE.

However, it's probably better to get used to running with what you have at the moment and consider any further changes later.

Thanks! You are right, I do not think I will be fiddling with these things any time soon. I had a right hearth throbing when I inserted the OS disk to the drive today, I do not think i will be attempting anything adventurous soon!

;)
