Verified the disc then removed the map disc from the drive loaded the new burned disc and after a few minutes the disc reads , "Medium cannot be read''. I tried the same with ver31, no luck. I m using HP CDs. Any advice will be appreciated. thanks.

You didn't read enough :-)

The OS CDs here are for Mk1...Mk4, NAVI01...NAVI03

Your E90 car does not have these systems

You have a MOST-based nav, it can only be updated over the diagnostic port or optical connection via dealer software.

guess I have to go and visit my dealer! thanks you saved me alot of effort!

Please help... I have an '04 m3 and have downloaded the V31 and V32 torrents and I can't get either to work. I unzipped them to the desktop, and burned the .img file to a CD-R using imgburn @ 1x write speed. When i take the map disk out and put in the update disk nothing happens...

I wait for like 5 min. and nothing, no update screen or anything just whatever screen was showing when I put it in.

If I go to menu, then navigation it says cannot read the cd/dvd, please insert map disk

Am I doing something blatantly wrong?

This is what imgburn says after the burn is done...

Thanks in advance for any help guys!!

Are you burning the file directly to the disk, or are you using the file to create a disk? You want to be doing the latter.

MatthewRyan 01-26-2009 09:20 PM

Wow, as soon as I posted that i decided to try one more time... didn't really do anything different but it worked this time!! lol

Only thing that looks different is the map screen tho... and no cool M3 splash screen, only a bmw logo above where it said =BMW= originally. How do you get the m3 splash?

KiwiJochen 01-27-2009 02:57 AM

==BMW== is the correct, standard screen

Anything else has been edited by someone (by editing the navboot file on the OS, thus making a non-standard custom OS)

Ahhh.... I figured it out. Thanks guys!!!

New here, just wondering, I got my 06 MINI with the MKIV and I've never updated the software since I got it. I'm thinking of getting it done but would it be smart to go through the versions or can I go ahead and do v32 now? Also would v32 be usable at all for MINIs or just BMWs?

V32 is for BMW and Minis. It contains Mini-specific graphics in it.

What version is in the Mini nav now?

Currently in the settings it say "4 1-60" will have to chevck what that is here.
