Turn on your car. Go to your NAV Screen, go to your Main Menu. Go to settings and see what version you have at the upper right hand corner of the screen...
Then go to this link to decode the information: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=59

Try this for Mac downloads.

After the download from the download link you will see V26.rar on your Macintosh desktop, I used Stuffit expander to uncompress the files.

You will end up with one folder that says V26 folder on your desktop. Inside that folder are two files an mdf file and an mds file. Ucrew is correct; ignore the mds file. Now continue with the following instructions from MogulB.

1) change the mdf to iso
2) in Toast, under the Utilities menu, select Mount Disc Image and choose the "bmw v26 software.iso" file.
This creates a disc image on your desktop called "NAV_SW" with 54 items contained within it.
3) Go back to Toast and select the Copy icon (from Data/Audio/Copy/Other)
4) Go to the pull down menu next to "Image File" and select the nav software (you should see the cd icon and "NAV_SW" pop up
5) Click Record
6) select your speed, click Write Disc and Voila! Works like a charm. Good luck...

Result? The X5 downloaded the update so fast I turned my head and it was done. Thanks to all here at X5World. You are the best.

Agreed. We did the upgrade on a test car this weekend - it's definitely worth the download.

The upgrade work perfectly. It was easy, just follow the instructions in detail.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Easiest way to burn is to use Daemon tools (free) to mount the image, it creates virtual drives. Then use Nero to copy the cd, I burn at 52x with no problems

Well, watch your wording...

The dealers will provide free software updates, but NOT to the MAPS, only the o/s.

Also, good luck finding a dealer that knows anything about what you read here. My dealer was arguing that he "just" got the V25 software upgrade. The Service Manager told me I was mistaken about the rev level and that I must mean V25...

I'm not sure who you were directing the "watch your wording" to. I'll assume it wasn't me since I tried to be very clear that this is an OS upgrade, not a nav disk update :dunno:

With respect to dealers disputing that V26 is out, show them a copy of this and they will tuck tail quickly - http://www.xoutpost.com/pdf/v26.pdf :D
