They should be availible here:
VDO Dayton Downloads - Monitor Navigation - Software Updates & Applications

Download and open up the software and you will find the latest availible voice files.

If I wanted to update the GB voice to the new 610 voice (in the VDO update above), is it just as easy as swapping the relevant *.csf file, or do you have to also swap the voice.lst file and put them in a folder called 0610, and swap the lng_rel.tbl file?

This then gets me thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we could update the Mkiv's with the VDO firmware.

You an do either/or. Simply overwrite the csf file or add a new directory with the new voice files.

The voice file versions are stored in the M:\V_2\Voices\0506\voice.lst file and also in the M:\V_2\RR\0101\BMWC01S\lng_rel.tbl file

eg: lng_rel looks like this:
09100506Voices/0506/

You cannot load VDO software on the BMW OEM unit - the boot mode coding prevents this from happening.

Hi,

I need your help

I was able to download the files and make gtk work

my problem is that I cannot take an image of my navigation cd.

whenever I try to take an image, it gives me read error message.

I'm able to access to the cd and browse the folders and files.

Is the CD protected some how?

Hi Tobmag, I've downloaded the new voice files and the GB (F) is a lot better (smoother and less robotic) than the older one but quite a bit bigger and there seems to be more entries, have you loaded them yourself? and if so any problems. (I've loaded it as my second language and have tried it briefly, but that's by no means a complete test).

Cheers mate

Hi ccfj1.

Yes im using the swedish voice file instead of the French, the thing is that the VR and IKE also starts to speak French :-).

Guess I need to recode the nav unit to 3xEng instead.

I have had no problems with it at all otherwise.

Not sure if that will work (as expected), I tried this and it loaded the same file for all 3 languages, (the modded one), so was no good for me.

What I did was load USA (F) as my 2nd (so the TV and SES are in English, text and voice), and then replaced all the US text for UK, and renamed the US voice file for an unmoded GB(F), this has worked, all in GB (F) English voice and text (Nav, TV and VR-SES), result.

I've used the new updated GB(F) file for the 2nd and it is working as expected so I may mod and add the alert and use that for the 1st as well.
