1. how should i see night mode working, it's change itself at specific hour or i have to change manually?
Manually.

2. speedcam location uploaded to map, inserted with ultraiso to original disc image: the file seems to be exact same size as the original (carin.db) with same creation date/hour - it's ok?
No, it should be bigger (depending on how many cameras are loaded.

You did save the carindb (after the copy) from poison, then create a new carindb file, yes?

thank you!

p.s. i used igo8 txt file, hope it's ok
Should be OK, I don't know how good (or up todate) the files are there though.

veeeeery strange, color 2 is exactly the same as original (twilight zone maybe..), in rest, everything it's ok, however, the most important thing - audio warnings on cameras working just perfect...:)

Sounds like you have not loaded (and saved) the 2nd colour set changes, (assuming you loaded them) other wise it will be OEM.

Sounds good.

Hallo,
I do not want to bother the forum with my weird questions but I I can’t resist to ask this new one in order to understand “how things work”.
So far, I know there are two ways to insert speed cameras icons into map’s dvd.
1. Using POIsON.exe and POI data. I did it with DVD HIGH 2009-1 and it works good (I have an MKIV with NOT-POISONED v32. Strange thing icon #216 is still a tank and not a speed camera icon!!!). I just have modded colours); When needed, I used to download new POIS and then update the DB files of the DVD. So far so good….but when I tried doing the same with HIGH DVD-9 it DID NOT WORK; (ACTUALLY I WAS TALKING ABOUT THIS IN ANOTHER THREAD BUT THIS FITS BETTER)
2. Alternate procedure is splitting “original” DB_0 and DB_1 and replacing part of them (DB_0.001, DB_1.028) with others provided by someone else.
Here comes the “weird” question:
No problem to keep updated the maps with procedure number 1 (for HIGH 2009-1 as long as it does not work with HIGH 2009-2), BUT…how can I update the POI data for procedure number 2 ????
HOW DO I KEEP UPDATED MY DVDS??

You need to mod the v32 as well, icon#216, to "see the correct icon"

POIsion hack is for audio alert AND auto loading of icons.

The 2009-1 and 2009-2 .lsc file is not the same, there are differences in the numbering of the .idx and .url files, you cant drag and drop the .lsc file from the old disc to the new one.

??

Make a copy of the OEM DB file (the 3.something GB one) and keep safe

Use POISon.exe to import the cameras and save them direct into the DB file, drag and drop into the DVD image and burn.

To update, use the OEM DB (the safe one) and add to the virgin DB file for every "update", that way only new cameras are loaded.

Yes I agree. I think the best method is using POIsON and own POIs.

In the italian forum there is also another procedure that requires to split the DB files in 50.000.000(million) byte pieces. Then you have 40 pieces for db_0 and 28 (if I remember correctly) for DB_1. Then you have to replace the first piece of both (DB_0.001 and DB_1.001) with the one that is provided. Do you know anything about?

Hi,

I'm having a problem with POIsoning my map. Well, guess it's worth mentioning that I was getting an error form POIson (sth with libglib-2.0-0) and only deleting it allowed me to open the programme. Just a thought it might have some impact.

I sucessfully created software CD and installation was smooth like a toilet paper.

I want to add some speedcams to my navteq CD map. I added some fixed speedcams from poiplaza and sucessfully created an image and burned it with the slowest possible speed. The map works perfectly just like the POIs with a small exception of speedcams :( When I open the military bases' directory it displays sth like "s343tva@sdd3d@rfhg" (not an exact quote) , a few chinese-like signs and an arrow. After clicking on it, navi wants to guide me to " s343tva@sdd3d@rfhg", but then just the map with my position appears. Any solutions ?

Cheers
