Thanks, yeah i figured that out last night after most of my hair was torn out!

I had a quick go at importing my POI's before i went to bed, not sure if im doing it right or not, i clicked on 'import', then double clicked the .csv file from the POI i wanted to add, then clicked 'overwrite' to update the original DB file. However, when opening the DB folder again through poison.exe i couldnt really see any changes to the stock POI list?

One other question is.. does the .csv file contain the POI image that physically appears on the map (speed camera picture etc) or do i somehow have to import the .bmp as well?

It does not mod the original db files mate, you add the cameras and then save the db (to a new dir), this then is the modded db, you then add this to you disc image.

It has the locations loaded into the db, when 1 is displayed on screen the mod will place the png from location 216 (withing the OS), on scree as well.

So, if you dont change the png, you get the tank icon.

Wrong thing mate.

Poison is for db mods (direct into the carinDB file), so you can any poi you like here, but it always uses icon216.

Adding 'shell petrol stations' to the POI menu, is done via a different method, and is added to the map disc in a different place.

Only if you change the contents via poison.

Yes, for adding cameras via poison, adding POI to the disc is done another way... have a look at PipMyNav for that.

I remember that fot the 2010 version one had to download a file which was basically the DVD structure but just without the DB files. Hi vince59it, I know how to add the speedcams with poison, but according to ccfj1, as of the 2010 disc there are additional mods required to get the disc working. I was asking him for that. I got a working copy now :)

I dont think it will mate, I've only modded the European dvd, so this will not work for your region.

Try adding the cameras to the OEM disc and see if that works first.

I have managed to update my os to the latest with thanks to CCFJ1.

I have successfully burnt a 2011 disc deleted the extra languages. But it doesn't have the speed camera POI or 7 digit postcode search.

I have tried to find the moddified patch for 2011 map discs but can't find it anywhere on the net.

Could someone please PM me a link to it or post it up. So I can follow the good instructions and complete it myself.
I want to make it a regular thing to download the updated speed camera files from www.pocketGPSworld.com and add it to my map disc.

Sounds like the wrong version of the GTK libraries, you will need to find a set that works with vista.

The poison worked fine now, I downgraded the GTK to version 2.16 and this solved the problem.
I'm trying to proceed without doing any modification to the nav software (in this case I suppose to see the military base icon instead of the speed cam), I already have the mk4 v32, so I burned the new dvd and it successfully worked in my navigation but the military bases didn't appear on the map, do I have to select some option on the nav screen in order to make the military bases appear on the map or it should appear directly without any selection? :confused:

is it possible to change the splash screen on these two cars:
E65 750 built in 2006
E93 335i conv. built in 2008.
The splash screen is wide screen over the whole display.

I searched the bitmap with navtweak in the V32 but found only files with 400x234 and changed them to my favorite splash (first only in (in folder mk3 and after negative result in all other folders were I found it) and set the version to 0000, but nothing happens - same ugly splash than ever.
I think the wide screen bitmap cant be that size 400x234 - it have to be wider.

Any ideas?

No, not possible. BMW do not want us messing about with their systems anymore, so all the tools we have will not allow changes to these cars.

That will only change the splash for the mk3 mate.

Hi guys, I've just tried to update my MKIV system on my 2004 X3 with the modded v32 ISO image. Oh boy...nasty noise...black screen and it won't come back...dead...put maps back in and also my old V32 upgrade CD which worked but just get a black screen...

Is there a way to reboot the system?

Hi Tony,

Don't know what you have done wrong mate, but it sounds like the disc is corrupted somehow, there is no way to "reboot" the system per-say, you will need to update the OS with a known goo version of OS.

Try using a v29 or v30 (as a mode2, just in case).

PMN does not make the alerts work, thats used for non alert POI, you must use POISon to add the cameras to the carindb for the alerts.

I want to modify the german version.
Changed so far:

Problem now:
Changed some menu points to alerts on/off in german context but it has the same function as in factory when i used it...
How can i also make the Speed Cameras as an Menu Point, so i dont need do navigate through all these Menus?

Yes, if you want to use a SL disc instead of a DL, I've not got one available, but you should be able to use the 2011 disc as a template.

I removed the voice alert after using it for a long time. Now the radio still lowers the volume when approaching a traffic cam, like when the alert was still there, but the voice phrase itself is missing (of course, I'm using the stock voices again now). Is this normal? I can't tell, because I only used the poison mod with alerts until now. Is patch.exe needed even if I don't want the voice alert?

No, but you will need to use an unmodded version of the navboot file and an unmodded version of the voice file, and then make a different version number (for both OS and voice), so that it reloads the new language files.

I've done that. The update process told me that the voice files were loaded.
I didn't run patch.exe this time but now the speed cams are missing on the map.

If you are still hearing the sound dip then then Navboot is still patched.

You need an new unmodded OEM navboot (thats never been patched), if you had mods to the nav boot then you will need to re-apply them but just dont add the patch.exe.

Sorry, I meant to say that I flashed it again now and it's back to stock (apart from splash and night mode).
Old voice files and OS were loaded, the sound dip is gone but like I said, the speed cams are now missing as well. I replaced the military base icon but didn't run patch.exe.

Attenuation of sound for speedcams and the camera icon goes hand in hand. You can not have one without the other. That is what the patch does. If you want to have only speedcams icons on the screen, use maps with added speedcams by Pimp-My-Nav. But I don't know if the guy still sell this useful program.

which shows over 20,000 POIs for "Police".

Any help would be appreciated before I attempt to load my own Police POIs.

You cant load anything other than item into the "military bases" by using Poison.

"Police" refers to police stations, you would need to check the ENG.LSC file to find them via the POI menu.

Well all that sounds exactly right, if the points are not being seen by poison then they will be in the wrong format. Try one of the other ones infill you get the right ones.

You have to change the decimal symbol to a dot under Control panel -> region. If it's set to comma (like in Germany) then you can't import anything.

Yes, of course, I run the 2014 modded map.

you need to use the padding files from the 2010 disc mate.

You also need to cut the disc down to SL, (and use teh sl files from the 2010 disc),

No problem.

padding files are the files used to Pad the disc out so that the disc "knows" whats on the disc (to use and not to use).

You need the padding files from the 2010 disc to them make the 2114 disc (this will allow the unused categories to be accessed correctly).

You need to mod the following files

1: DB9/padding
2: TPD3.dic
3: /TPD/NCCBEUFNM_EUW_20130523/info.psc

the (my mistake), you have done the singal layer mods, thats fine.

did the 2013 disc work with poison? if yes, use the padding files from that, at a push you can just delete the 2013 2x DB files and then drag and drop the 2x 2014 db files and save and use that, its messy but should work

I have not tested the poison on 2013 disk.
the 2014 disc seems to work with poison (DB and BIBLIOGR)
it incorporates my radar in DB1 file.

try using the 2014 DB files in the 2007 image and see if that works.

The modded image I sent you works for the ENG version of the 2014 disc mate as I'm using it and it does work!.

if I put the DB_0 and DB_1 (of the 2014 map) files into my 2007 map ISO, I would have the 2014 map informations ?

Yes, for the main built in POI you would, the extra POI would be from 2007, but its just to test to see if it works, if it does you should be able to use a combination of 2007 and 2014 files to get it all working.

1. speed cameras (icons and alerts) automatically instead of military items.
2. mobile cameras as POI (IDX files and URL).
3. these 2 things on 2014 map.

If you have run the POISON.exe on the navboot file and you have the military bases loaded with alert location, then it should work, yes.

I dont really understand why its not working for you to be honest, it should.

Alert cams are for the HIGH only, you can have non alert cams in the PRO, but not the PREM version of maps.

Not seen a procedure mate, but I dont think you can, there is no export in poison so you can't use poison to do it.

Just download a new set of POI and go from there.

if you mean the non alert PO, then the easy way is to copy the 2x db from the new disc and drop them in the old disc, you loose the new poi, but it does work.

I always make a new disc from scratch when I get the new one.

use poison as normal mate,

copy the new db files into a dir called OEM and then load poison and read the poi in as normal, then save.

copy the db files back and save the new image.

I'm actually very frustrated concerning my issue that I couldn't solve since several months.

Here my info on my car/navi:
- BMW E70, 6.2009
- Navi Professional / CCC

I used PmN several time and it worked fine until 2013. After that I couldn't burn working DVD.

My problem is:
- I've bought new maps for Europe (Professional 2016)
- downloaded POIs from scdb.info in Garmin or TomTom-format (tried both)
- Usage of Pimp-my-Nav and inserted POIs
- Burned DVD
- POIs are listed in car display but Icons are not shown

Tried several times ... with icon of scdb (warning icon) and also with icon available in original dvd (just for see if the problem is the icon) ... nothing; both not working ... icon of inserted POIs is not shown.

I don't know where to look for the problem ... if PmN, DVD, BurningSW or CCC (updated in last two years when car was in maintenance?).

Is there another way to insert POIs on the DVD than usage of PmN? I asked for support to PmN but not getting answer. Perhaps there is a "manual" way to insert the POIs.

if the camera locations are their but the icon is not being shown, then the problem is with either the icon (the picture itself), the location of the icon (in the directory) or the location of the icon in the eng.lsc file (its incorrect).

I work with the german language. I don't think that the problem is in the picture itself because I've tried also with the original icons and it's still not working.
When using PmN then the location of the icon is stored automatically by PmN.

How should I proceed step-by-step?

I dont use PmN mate, so can help with that.

You will need to go through the GER.LSC file line by line to make sure that all the element line up.

Sorry for confusion .. I just wanted say if you tell me how to proceed (step-by-step) with importing POI manually (not using PmN).

I have problem with poison...

I can import my *.csv file but from the 30.000 poi he only put 248 poi on... an he shorts all..

When a position is... 5.32424 he make it to 5.30000

Whats wrong?!!! I cant go forward.. i test it on win xp 32bit on win10 64bit... nothing work...

I will add with poison pois to the roadmap high 2016...

Sounds like you are using the wrong formatted .csv poi mate.

I test many csv flies... same shit...:(

I just downloaded Road Map Europe HIGH 2016 + Blitzer Edition for the MK4 unit in my E46 M3.
The unit has the latest original OS installed.
What OS do I need to install to get the speed camera's to work ?
