Resler Interface

Guys,

I recently bought an Resler interface which I haven't recevied yet and am a little unsure of how to wire it up. I am planning at connecting it to the CD changer plug, does this plug go straight on to the Resler interface or do I need to make up some sort of bridge?

If I have to make up some sort of bridge it might be easiest to buy the correct BMW plugs, probably off this page:
RealOEM.com BMW E46 M3 Plug terminal ELO not waterproof

So how do you guys connect it up and have you got any photos you can post? Also I have gone for a USB version, what type of USB cable do I need, an A>B?

Thanks.

It connects directly to the cd changer plug, without a problem, I made up a small t piece lead so that I could have a connection without having to remove the cd changer every time.

Cost was about £6 - £7 or so for the bits and about 1/2 an hour to make up and install.

Isn't the CD changer plug a 3 pin, and the resler a 4 pin, 12V, Earth, Ibus, NTSC switch?

I presume the CD changer plug just contains the 3 pins, 12V, earth and Ibus?

Yes, just ignore the NTSC pin, the cd changer plug just fits straight on.

Yeap, that's it. (+12v ign, ibus and GND), I think

Thanks. I've got a reversing camera, but can't see the point in changing from NTSC, so I'll just leave that disconnected.

To make a t piece up I used these.

1) 61.13.8.377.072 - Male Plug x2 - same as CD I-bus plug. = £0.68
2) 61.13.0.006.663 - Female termination x6 = £0.90

3) 61.13.6.931.929 - Female plug x1 = £0.98
4) 61.13.0.006.664 - Male termination x3 = £0.94

Hallo everybody,

I go straight with the question...
AFAIK there is the possibility to do by yourself an IBUS scan, BTW this device only works with serial port.
If I want an USB device I must go to the RESLER interface.
Is this correct or there is any onther solution to make your own USB IBUS scan device?

Thanks a lot.
