First check to see what version you are currently on (see http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=59 for assistance on this). If you are currently on 3-1/63 then your system is up to date and you do not need to do anything. If you are below that level then any of the following disks will upgrade your unit to the latest OS for the MkIII - V22, V22.1, V23, V24, V24.1 or V25. There are sources for several of these at http://bmwnavigation.com/software/Na...tware_Updates/

I am currently on V23 (I upgraded from V17 last week) I am not sure if V24 would do me any good! - Thanks for the reply BTW

If you loaded V23 on your MkIII then you are at 3-1/63 and that is the latest and greatest for that nav drive. No need to do anything at this time.

Good! - then I have no more NAV modding to do at the moment! - off course I would like to move to the larger screen! perhaps that will be my next mod!

I upgraded my system to V25 today and had no problems. In fact, using information found on bimmerboard posted by Brian, I was able to enable my radio splitscreen mode. Here's details on my experiences:

Well done! - I do miss radio on split screen  - Off course V25 will not help a MK III though :tsk:

Jeff, am I under the assumption that the radio split screen is a MKIV only thing?

I thought the MkIII also had the radio split screen, but not certain. I also don't know if that "hack" will work on the MkIII like it does with the MkIV. :dunno:

That's fantastic - thank you!

I've now reverted my radio to the 'split-screen' mode after removing my accept screen some time ago. The loss of the radio 'split-screen' was the only (minor) drawback.

I've also noticed that my INFO button now reveals PTY, RDS & NAV-Min as it did prior to losing my split screen functionality. When the 'split-screen' was missing all I had was RDS...

In retrospect it makes sense - turn the radio on so the navigation computer 'sees' it whilst upgrading.

Thanks for the tip!
