Australian X5
Hi Jackay,
I also have an Australian X5 (2004 3.0d) and have recently upgraded to v25 without any problems, others have too. I haven't yet tried the downgrade upgrade trick to et rid of accept but again other Australian vehicle owners have. Also regarding homelink - I ended up replacing the insides of the homelink control with the insides of one of my handheld remotes and it works perfectly and has the buttons illuminated and powered from the car. While its not ideal I found that was the only way to get it working with my gates which are ATA. Let me know if you want more information. cheers, Seedar. |
Does anyone know where I download the european nav disc

Accept screen removal
Hi,
I did the downgrade upgrade trick from v25 to v22.1 then back to v25 and it did remove the accept screen. However even though I had the radio on the whole time split screen seems to have disappeared when displaying audio information ??? Any ideas, thanks, Seedar |
Thanx for the PM UCrewX5. And thank you for the help as well Seedar
The installation went on perfectly, but there was no need for me to downgrade then upgrade again, because my car originally didn't have a Accept screen like most other people. :) About the homelink Seedar, the homelink people at the office still haven't give me a reply on the unit yet. But I'm curious to know, how'd you open it up and replace the unit within though. Is it a hard job? or was it easy? Please show some of the steps that you took to make it happen if you can. If you got pictures for demostration it'll be great too. Not sure if I'll dare myself to open it up though, cause normally when I try to fix things...I can't put it back properly, or just ended up recking it :o |

If you have a MkIII then I'm not sure if or how it can be done. |
Hi there Seedar. Don't know if I can help you or not here. If it's you're having trouble getting radio-split-screen, I just went down stairs and performed the procedures on the article mentioned, and it went on with no trouble at all. You might want to try out with starting at V25 downgrade to V24 then back to V25. Cause this is the way that I got the split screen to work :)
During the downgrade to V24, I turned the radio off at the start and went on with with downgrade procedure(normal software upgrade procedure). After software update is completed, I put the NAV-disc back in then click OK on the screen. It is now, that I turn the radio back on. Then, turned it off when menu re-appear, and turn it back on again. Now you should be able to see split-screen. After V24, I got my split screen working and upgrade back up to V25 again. Results are great, now I can actually read NAV-information when I listening to radio. Hope this helps:) |

Its simple if you have some basic electronics knowlege, unfortunately I didn't take photos at the time. You connect +12v and ground and wire in one of the homelink switches instead of the button on your remote. Exactly how depends on your remote. Of course your remote MUST use a 12v battery to power it - but most do these days. cheers, Seedar |

Anyways, thanx for helping out so much Seedar! If I can't get it working, I guess I'll have to sell if off on eBay later when I have time for it. Thank you! |
homelink
The one button is not a problem, you can wire all three of the homelink buttons or just one - it doesn't matter. The 9V supply is a little more problematic but if you were enthusiastic enough you can just wire in a simple 9V regulator. Its just one tiny component that will take your 12v supply from the car and give you 9V to power the remote - still its a little more fiddling around.
good luck, Seedar. |
What version does the 2002 X5 4.4 have?
