Nav OS V25 has been released
This update is only for MkIV nav systems, and reportedly it's just a maintenance release with no new features. It will take your system to 4-1/50.
The V25 image files, zipped and in CloneCD format, can be downloaded at this link - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=02GKUQO5 Be sure to use quality CD-R media and burn at the lowest possible speed. Also note that there are risks to doing the upgrade on your own, so do so knowing that risk is present. Although rare, problems can occur if update steps aren't followed properly or there are issues with the media. Such conditions can cause problems with the nav drive which may not be recoverable. |
Installed this on my 2005 X5 with no problems at all. Same installation process on my 2004 X3; failed to reboot after successful load of software update. Multiple attempts resulted in the same result. Had to go back to Version 24.1. Of note here is that the X3 actually has the newer NAV computer as it was replaced under warranty a few months ago. ???

same here, im on ver 24.1 after v25 failed to reboot..

With 2 out of the three posts here stating that V25 failed to reboot...... I am a little nervous upgrading my NAV to V25..... anyone actually got it to work?
|
It worked fine for me on my 2005 X5. First try was successful with no issues.
It was just my X3 that wouldn't re-boot. I haven't had time to try it again yet. You can always re-install version 24.1 if your version 25 attempt fails. MJM |
Does it do anything better ?

I get the following error once I download V25
! C:\bmw-x5\nav\V25_CloneCD2.rar: Unexpected end of archive Does anyone else get that? |
Hey there,
Can anyone please tell me what enhancments this brings? I'm just curious because if it's a rather noticeable enhancment I'll consider doing this. Thanks |
I've installed it on the following
- 2002 E46 M3 with DVD Navigation (not my car) - 2004 E46 318i with DVD Navigation Some changes I've noticed: 1) On the M3 the language options changed from English, German, French to English, German & Italian (on the 318i it didn't) - not sure why! :dunno: 2) The 'Route Magnet' function now has a 'memory'. I never noticed this before (read below) The route magnet now seems to stay attached to a destination, until you cancel the route magnet. For example, when I select destination A and I add a route magnet for that destination, every time I select destination A from either the Address Book or the Last Destinations list, it will ask me if I want to 'Continue Route Magnet?'. If I select 'No' or cancel the route magnet during guidance, it is no longer 'attached' to that destination. You can only have one route magnet at any one time though - so you can't have a route magnet attached to destination A and one attached to Destination B simulaneously. Shame... but may be a limitation of the hardware... The route magnet memory stays within the Nav computer so even if the car has been switched off overnight, it is still there! This 'Route Magnet Memory' didn't seem to work with the previous version of the Nav OS - correct me if I'm wrong, please. Paul Martin Australia |
