It doesn't look like a Cali plate unless it's a vanity plate I've never seen before.

Upon second glance, I'm guessing the front fascia is covered with a clearbra (or actually opaque bra)? The whole front end looks matted. What a botch job.

I've seen a few here in the noveau riche side
of Naples...(I never have my digicam when I
see these amazing rides, here.)

I agree on the wingthing...and, at the risk of
sounding like a Luddite, I suspect if that car
had a Saleen or Panoz or Joe'sDreamCarInvention
on it, it would not be drooled upon so often and,
might come in for some styling criticism.

A TechnoTour de Force for the "street", but not
the best looking babe in the lineup, imo.
Nice pics, though PNG.

The spoiler should not be up like that... hahahah

It comes up at highspeeds and is supposed to come down at low speeds...

I guess when you buy a car at $500,000 they figure your rich enough to deal with unreliability...

Edit: Upon second look, the headlights also look foggy like there is a water leak allowing moisture inside...

it's not a stuck spoiler. There is a switch inside the car to keep it raised just like in the 997 and the boxster's. Also, looks like new york plates... think the guy might have slapped on a clear bra (crappy one) to drive it across the country?

What's that thing to the left? Another Mazda kit car? What's up with the stuck spoiler and foggy headlight covers? Just kidding. The Carrera GT was the most impressive car I saw at the last 2 L.A. Auto Shows.

Did you see the owner? If I recall, Jay Leno has one. Or maybe the owner owns or runs both Porsche and BMW dealerships?

996 certainly didn't have that...

You sure?

"Similar to other Porsche Models, the GT includes an automated rear wing spoiler which deploys in the higher ranges of speed (circa 60 mph to 70 mph)." -Wikipedia

Porsche spoilers on regular 996's (an older) would come up at around 120 km/h when the car needed extra downforce, and were actually useful to the car. I don't see why porsche wouldn't do the same here...

The raised wing nicely underlines the xoutpost.com decal on Kevin's X
