Go drive an E90 325 and an Audi A4. You'll feel which one you like better. If you do go with Audi, go CPO. The resale on Audis is not good. I would rule out most of the Japanese options. They just don't feel like a BMW as not much if anything does. You'll be impressed with the E90. I'd skip the X3 since you had an X5. It'll probably feel a little strange after having had an X5 and it sounds like you're over having a SUV/SAV.

Joel -
Sanguru said it best in one of his posts a couple of weeks back. If fuel prices are driving your decision to buy a new car, you need to consider that the financial outlay for a new vehicle may be more than differential return you'll get at the gas pump. If you NEED a new car, because the old one is getting tired and worn out, by all means, get a new one. If you WANT a new car because you're sick and tired of driving the old one, by all means, get a new one, if it makes you feel good. But if you're simply trying to offset the price of gas - think very carefully about your decision from a purely economic standpoint. Personally, I don't see one car on your list that is going to have a significant fuel consumption decrease over your existing 330ix. What are you going to save - 1 gallon of gas per fillup? $3.50 per tank at today's prices? Keep your 330ix and buy yourself a Civic SI or some 30 MPG sporty econobox to putt around in. When the 330ix finally gives up the ghost, buy yourself the nicest, plushest, high performance car you can afford for the special excursions. |

After looking over your list i don't think any if those fit your requirements. Perhaps you should consider the following. None of these are exciting except the vet and I don't know how it got on the list. But your list dosen't seem pratical given your requirements. Honda Civc is also missing from that list. Finally this link should round out the list of high milage vehicles for your consideration. http://www.motorists.com/new/carreviews/bestfuel.html
Luxury Vehicle Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI Mileage: 27 city/37 highway Cost: About $50,000 Family Sedan Toyota Camry Mileage: 24 city/34 highway Cost: Low $20,000 Sports car Chevrolet Corvette Mileage: 18 city/28 highway Cost: About $45,000 Crossover/Wagon Toyota Rav4 Mileage: 24 city/30 highway Cost: About $22,000 Compact car Toyota Corolla Mileage: 32 city/41 highway Cost: About $15,000 Quote:
