I've had my briefcase searched when entering the subway, I'm forced to remove my shoes when I fly, I walk past National Guard Troops carrying LOADED M16's when I board the train in my sleepy old home town. And you know what? I'ld endure much worse to have never had 9/11 happen and relieve the grief and sadness that so many of my friends and neighbors now endure and will endure for the rest of their lives.

I could be a lot more direct here, but I'll leave it at what I've said.

I hate periods

I'm not saying that they were not worse people, I'm saying evil is everywhere and comes with every skin color, so in my opinion racial profiling doesn't work because evil people will always find a way to carry out their activities, its a sad fact of reality. I have major issues with racial profiling because I don't think it works, if you profile them they will just find weak people to carry out their activities and trust me their are plenty of them around this country. For the shoes and extensive searches, I fly alot and I have never had any of that happen, I would probably feel alot better if it did actually, here security feels like a joke to me. Remember ww2 and when we interned all those Japanese people? I would never want something like that to happen again. I think we all racial profile, I know in my head I do, as much as I try not to, but I think the government doing it sends the wrong message.

Good points Gresch. So many people have already forgotten the terror we felt that day on 9/11. We need to do ANYTHING we can to prevent innocent families from having to go through that again. So many soldiers and their families have sacrificed so much already to prevent another 9/11 and so far they have done that. We can not let our guard down because they will not give up.

Maybe we should require all muslims to wear a certain color arm band. Then the job of profiling them would be much easier. For example, many sephardic jews look like Arabs in appearance, and there are many Christian Arabs who are Syrian & Leboneese, and you would avoid mistakes of profiling them by accident.

I'm pretty sure this idea has been used before....

Maybe if you weren't living such a sheltered life you would have a better perspective on what happens in the real world.... maybe you should give it some thought. Isn't there something inconsequential that you're knoweldgeable about? like dog outfits? Stick to what you know.

That's not even close to what this thread has insinuated. In my opinion racial profiling is necessary in certain circumstances. If for instance there was a credible threat for additional hijackings, profiling at the airports would be a good procedure. Hell, if innocent arabs are getting additional screenings why would they bitch? They don't want to be hijacked and blown up either. If I happened to be in a country where there was a threat that a white male was going to perform a terrorist act on a plane I would welcome additional searches or questioning. I would then KNOW that there is a good security process.

Sorry gresche that I don't share your exact opinion and its "somehow" wasting your time, you frequently waste my time too then, as for sheltered, don't act like you know me and don't attempt to insult me either. As for racial profiling, shouldn't they already be screening everyone anyways at an airport?

As I said before, White Males were responsible for 2 of the last 3 terrorist attacks in the United States. Why single out muslims then?
