You've got a sunshade on the front window, and the sides are heavily tinted. How is she supposed to see it? Lose the tint. Is it legal, ahead of the B pillar?
Yes, you appear to be getting hassled, but if she is driving by and can't see the pass, I don't think you have much of a chance. A photo from the side (where she is looking from) will likely not see through your tint.

I had a similar issue (without illegal tint though). The 'parking police' said that permit had to be in clear sight from the street and that they are not required to "agressively look or leer" to check for it. In fact, they actually wrote my permit # on my ticket (they were able to see it once they got up close which does not meet the clear sight standard).
I asked about this more and they explained that the ticket wasn't for not having a permit but instead for not having the permit in clear/plane sight. I assume that in your case, if she does use her 'tools' you still get the ticket because she needed to use them (maybe partly due to your illegal tint - which I'm sure she would bring up if confronted by her superiors). I was advised to (and did) attach my permit to a sting that hung about 4 inches lower that the rearview so that it became easily visible from the street. It was a pain to take down and put back up again, but I didn't get any more tickets after that. Although you may feel she is harassing you, remember, she's just doing her job. Not to say you shouldn't be mad, but you aren't 'clean' here either. |
