Ok, next step is to try selecting the security tab and restoring defaults for each zone. I know you said they were the same but I found that IE updates sometimes screws them up.

ok try reinstalling IE (though installing version 7 beta should have done the trick) but to reinstall IE you need to modify the registry. Its just one of the things you can try. BTW I make house calls and if i cant solve the problem its free for you where on LI are you?

reinstalling IE is what i was thinking of doing when i get home, i will run System File Checker first and then Regedit to change the value of DWORD from 1 to 0 in the apropiate registry key.

i`m on Exit 58 Of the LIE (495) is i run out of ideas i`ll let you know.

1.While you are logged on as an administrator, click Start, and then click Run.2.In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.3.Locate the appropriate registry subkey, right-click the IsInstalled (REG_DWORD) value, and then click Modify.

To reinstall only the Internet Explorer 6 browser component on Windows XP, use the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}

4.Change the value data from 1 to 0, and then click OK.5.Quit Registry Editor, and then install Internet Explorer 6.

just fyi in case you didnt know which dword to modify. you can actually still use IE even after you "uninstall" it. give that a try. btw did you try running in safe mode? what if you create a new user account on the machine i'm still not convinced and think it might be a profile issue.
