Hmm...just thinking....

2004 X5 4.4........17mpg (91 octane)
2006 Mustang GT 4.6........21mpg (87 octane)

So the poor design is getting better gas mileage on worse fuel.

The Mustang is a fine car and it should better mpg than a four wheel drive SUV.

The Vete and the Mustang are good cars and I am sure that the Camaro will be good as well. However they are all cars that have limited utility and limited market share. They are not the future. The big three needs hits like the original Ford Taurus and the Chrysler mini van.

The best mini van or four door family car (like the Taurus) today is made by Toyota or Honda. This what is wrong with the big three and pony cars are just a distraction.
