I waited out the rush hour. I left at 9 and got in about 9:40 (15 miles). Nothing plowed, assholes spinning out all over the place. People have no common sense.

If any of you need some more snow we have an excess here in northern new york and are presently getting another 2 feet as I type. My daughter backed up the X5 out of the barn and she decided to take the scenic route because its in the middle of the yard. The only break in the last 2 weeks was Monday night when the snow stopped and the temp dipped to 20 below. I have to shovel a path in the yard every day so the yorkies can do their business.
David, aren't you bored in the sun?
Fred

Ugh this snow/sleet mix is HORRIBLE to drive in! I drove the X3 out with a teacher (we both took turns) in the unplowed snow. Well, its not snow......there's more ice to it than snow. Most people were stuck in snowbanks at the intersections, and even the X3 sometimes barely was able to respond to steering inputs on sidestreets because the snow was super-packed hard. I might have the steering wheel turned 90 degrees in either direction and the X would still be going straight. And drifting was out of the question because this "snow-ice" is no fun at all!

There is good news though. The X performed amazingly, even when I asked it to plow through a snowbank at an intersection. Brakes were amazing, and the snow tires would go anywhere even if it was unplowed. People outside shoveling their driveways all stopped and looked at us and wondering how (and why) we were able to drive through with ease. We just smiled and waved back.

Ice is much different than snow. I was coming around the entrance ramp to the bridge, going slow, no brakes and I started to lose it. It's not fun out there today.
