blinker fluid - national or local shortage?

A big problem I've noticed here on the east coast is the lack of signaling one's intentions, especially for lane changes. I have no problem using my directional signals to inform others of my intention to change traffic lanes or even to make a right or left turn. I even indicate that I am about to make a move BEFORE actually starting said move as to let others know what I am about to do. This way they won't have to guess what I'm doing and be aware of where I'm going. I'm convinced a good percentage of accidents occur because people guess wrong on what others are about to do. It's not like you have to make hand signals anymore. What are your driving habits?

I signal before I move as well. None of us are perfect and might not of saw that car in your blind spot.

What is worse than this are those drivers in small cars that change lanes really quick. They must think they are really cool.

Not too bad at all here in Chicago. You have your stray jackass once in a while, but for the most part people are good about using the blinker. Avg speed on 3-lane highways is usually between 75-80 even in decent traffic.

ot, anyone know the interval for changing the blinker fluid in BMWs??

Agreed. Most people use them.
I use mine everytime I turn. It really gets on my nerves when people don't becuase they are too careless and lazy and they think talking on a phone or eating something is a sufficient subsitute.

And BMW recrommends changing the blinker fluid (and filter) at the same interval as the headlight fluid. 4500 miles.

I always signal when changing lanes or making a turn or even getting on/off an exit ramp. 3 ticks for lane changes all the time. The only time you see me make a turn without signalling is well....you wont. In my neighborhood I may neglect signalling for turns when there's no one around.

And yes, around here, I also make the assumption that someone will randomly change lanes right under my nose, forcing me to slam the brakes, and the guy/girl on the cell phone behind me will not pay attention and rear end me at 40mph, giving me major whiplash and I will sustain major injuries and/or die.

Drivers around here are so bad, I'm if they stay can stay in their lane. I'm if they can drive a reasonable speed. I'm if they can use their headlights appropriately. Signalling is like, 5 extra bonus points and a WOW YOU KNOW THE TURN STALK EXISTS!!!!! If you think my standards are low, then you have an idea how well people drive around here . Oh and this is all on dry roads. It gets even worse when the weather's not dry and sunny.

I can flip the turn signal without removing my hand from the wheel and Bluetooth solves the cell problem - the Allstate "multi-tasking" commercial all but says "these are examples of really stupid driving"

I always use my indicator, and it drives me nuts when others don't.

Blink,Blink,Blink. Never really know what someone is thinking.
I try give 'em every chance as I am moving fast too. Most drivers
in Dallas just don't get the idea of moving traffic and letting
others in on whats next. Like the previous post, everyone
here uses the left lane no matter what speed they are going.
They move to the right when they are near their exit.

I agree that many don't use turn signals, in town or
on the highway or, even the I-State.

Otho, I find many drivers using a turn signal as simply a
way to announce they are "coming over"/"coming in", even
when there is clearly no room...it's like, "I've put on my signal
and I expect you and others to brake and/or make room so I
can sneak in."

I find that smartazz move more often on Interstates when idiots
are coming up on the right, get squeezed by a truck in slow lane
and expect one and all to "let them in"; screw 'em, imo.

A whole thread on turn signal usage...who da thunk?!
