I signal before I move as well. None of us are perfect and might not of saw that car in your blind spot.
What is worse than this are those drivers in small cars that change lanes really quick. They must think they are really cool.

Not too bad at all here in Chicago. You have your stray jackass once in a while, but for the most part people are good about using the blinker. Avg speed on 3-lane highways is usually between 75-80 even in decent traffic.
ot, anyone know the interval for changing the blinker fluid in BMWs?? |

I always use my indicator, and it drives me nuts when others don't.

Blink,Blink,Blink. Never really know what someone is thinking.
I try give 'em every chance as I am moving fast too. Most drivers in Dallas just don't get the idea of moving traffic and letting others in on whats next. Like the previous post, everyone here uses the left lane no matter what speed they are going. They move to the right when they are near their exit.

I agree that many don't use turn signals, in town or
on the highway or, even the I-State. Otho, I find many drivers using a turn signal as simply a way to announce they are "coming over"/"coming in", even when there is clearly no room...it's like, "I've put on my signal and I expect you and others to brake and/or make room so I can sneak in." I find that smartazz move more often on Interstates when idiots are coming up on the right, get squeezed by a truck in slow lane and expect one and all to "let them in"; screw 'em, imo. A whole thread on turn signal usage...who da thunk?!

What does it mean when someone's turn signal is blinking?
It means that it's working. You can't assume that they're going to turn. Either people never use them or the drive 5 miles with the blinker still on. ![]() Apparently it is much too difficult for people to flick the indicator stalk before they turn. It drives me nuts. It's not even like they have to unclick it since. Jeesh! I always signal unless there is absolutely no one around. I do like the newer BMW feature that blinks the indicator 3 times with a push on the stalk. Whether the person signals or not, I really hate how people seem to not understand that the round thing they're holding is meant to be turned when they are turning a corner and when they turn right they swing into the far left lane, or when they turn left the turn into the far right lane. Here is California it's illegal to do that but it's rarely enforced. Most drivers are just lazy and don't understand that driving takes a little effort sometimes. Common occurence: two lanes turn left and the inside car swings wide to the right and hits/nearly hits the car turning in the outside lane. That's why in those situations I try to stay in the inside lane.

OH....Now you talk about driving me nuts this does. Especially when i look in the rearview mirror and the nearest car is a 1/4 mile behind me and they could have easely slowed down and got behind me with no trouble. But no The CEO gets irritated because there is clearly not enough room but they expect to squeeze in and she thinks i should slow down and let them do it. My attitude is just like my brother, MD, sorry DUDE aint happining.
But back on topic.......... I believe the other comments are correct. Just because someone turns on a turn signal dont expect them to do what it indicates. All to often it just dosen't work out that way. Quote:
