Wow, more than 5 years ago, back when I thought I owned "the" X5, thought I could drive, was an a-hole little kid who obviously did not proofread.

A few hundred posts and 5 years later, I think at least a couple of those things have changed.

Yea, I must say, I thought we were 'close' on autospies, but this is a whole different! There were some very funny 2:00 am posts there, but the links were then broken, and then came the attack of the Lexus Fanboys...
please don't let this site become like this..... (I'm the last comment, with the mustang logo btw)

Oh yeah, forgot that many people joined X5world in the first month. I joined RF in 2002 and I think this was my first post:

I just received my 2003 X5 3.0 last week and it does NOT have power folding outside mirrors. It has been mentioned on this board that this is new to MY2003, but not sure if it just applies to the 4.4/4.6 or also the 3.0. Just curious, has anyone confirmed which model/option has this? Thanks,

Here's my first post on the X5 forum on roadtoad ...

Author: J.Guo on 2003-12-16 at 01:21:57(Roadfly member #64137; Roadfly Inner Circle member since 2003-12-25) Subject: question about upgrade to 16x9 navigation (109 views) (184 thread views) Message:
Hello all,

I'm visiting from the E38 boards, and am about to purchase a CPO-ed 01 4.4 with 12K miles...

My question is: I know the 4:3 navigation screen can be upgraded to the 16x9 screen, but how difficult is it? Is it a direct plug and play? i.e. if the stealer has another X5 with wide screen nav, I think it's a direct swap, right? How much labour would be involved with doing something like that?

Thanks to all for your input!

For some reason, my "inner circle" membership never expired. I'm not getting charged for it, but I'm still showing that copyright symbol and 46 next to it ... ?!

For future reference, go to www.x5world.net for darned near everything you want to know about the X5. It's a resource put together by UCrewX5 and many of the regular posters here. It truly is an incredible resource and best of all, reflects contributions by members of this very board.

X5World.net: Widescreen nav

Welcome!

My dealer is delivering my new X5 tomorrow morning to my house. It will have Premium/Sport/Auto/Climate/Xenon/Nav and dark wood. It will be Steel Grey/Black. I can't wait. I have a digital camera, so I will take lots of pics when I get it.
Yahoooooooo!

"I have a digital camera...." That definitely dates your post as that statement was really necessary back then when digicams were still 1 or 2MP and not that common.

The best I can dig up is my participation on Toadfly back in the fall of 2000 when I was on the E30 M3 board as Kevin369. I went to the X5 board some time in late 2001, IIRC. In my research I stumbled across this post. Ah, the memories.
