Are we talking about riddles wrapped in enigmas?

He was sentenced a fine and jail time for not specifically remembering who first told him about some borderline insane Ambassador being sent on an all-expenses paid "fact finding" trip to Niger by his CIA wife.

Clear enough?

Never mind it's been known (since before the investigation started) that it was Richard Armitage that leaked her name.

But facts aren't important, are they?

I don't want to start a pissing_match with you because I happen to think you are an OK guy.

That said you refer to Libby (Twice) as someone who gave away a covert CIA name. That did not happen and is a complete mis-characterization his role in this circus.

There were no lives at stake as a result of his actions because Plame and her jet-setting husband were already on the talk-show circuit.

As for Money...Wait until the Plame book hits the shelves.

I tried to be brief but you gentleman are correct in your technical symantics however the truth is still clear that Clinton lied about sex and Peter-Sceeter Libby lied about his direct knowledge of the origin of the leak that may have had national security implications and again not to mention the saftety and wellbeing of a CIA operative...I don't think a blow-job and some fragrant cigars are matters of national security or importance. With an approval rating of less than 25% in most accounts this is the worst thing that Bushy could have done at this partcular time. I won't get into any more of a political debate (especially on 7/4) but I don't know how people can still defend the actions of a bird faced dope like Bush (and this coming from a registered Republican). And with that enjoy your 7/4.

I find it interested when people say "clinton getting a bj" has no impact on security etc etc.

Alll that had to happen, and we don't know that it didn't, was for some foreign government find out about the affair and use it as leverage with Clinton under threat of exposing the relationship.

That being said, all politicians suck, no matter what side of the fence you're on, why everyone is so surprised when another one does something stupid is fairly entertaining.

borderline insane?

What makes you say that?

Wilson was sent to Niger to find out if Saddam had indeed tried to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger. He came back and in his report stated that the story was not true. Bush ignored his report and stated in his state of the union speech that Iraq had tried to buy the yellowcake uranium. And sure enough, we now know that the story was not true, and the documents were forgeries.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcake_forgery

If anyone here was borderline insane, it was Bush's speech writers who included facts that were known to be false at the time. Actually, insane is the wrong word. Criminal and Dishonest would be more accurate.
