I'll probably keep the BB 8800 as a backup.. Or give it to our office assistant or something.
No, the Iphone is not perfect, but the screen in nothing less than beautiful. I have my entire itunes collection on my phone, I have about 10 episodes of south park on the system.. Most importantly, I have both my thesis film and another short I directed on the Iphone, and they actually look and sound amazing.
I have a broad section of my photo's from Iphoto that live on my Iphone now. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... My calendar, contacts, bookmarks, etc. sync up with absouletely no thoughts or problems.

It is literallly like carrying around a portable Apple computer with a phone to boot.

I agree with Eric, the typing takes a bit of getting used to, it's easy to miss your intended key, but the system also seems to have an intelligence, if you miss type, it often knows what word you "meant" to type and corrects it for you. Still though, it's a little slow typing.. No better or worse than a BB. Just different.

I have only discovered one thing that annoys me so far and I'm not sure if I'm just using the system wrong, I do have to ask the phone to retrieve my email, rather than it just appearing. And it doesn't seem to combine two mailboxes, so I have to check each of my emails seperately.
But again, that my just be a DUE (Dumb User Error.)

But the interface on this phone is insane, it is light, portable, beautiful, sounds great, etc.

Can I find fault with it, yes, but overall, I say to Apple, job well done. I'm excited to see what type of improvements software will bring and even what the next hardware edition will be.

Again, I've only had it working for a couple hours, so in a week from now, I might just hate it. But I think not.

My understanding is that only Yahoo email has "push" email with the iPhone. However, you can set it up to check your email every 15 minutes, which I think is plenty quick for most people. So unless you are someone who needs to see your email within 2 minutes of it hitting your inbox, you should be fine.

Interesting ;-)

What bugged me was phone volume/speaker quality which may or may not be fixable via firmware.

Major gripe next to that was email integration, etc.
While I never had hopes that it would replace my Bberry, I did expect at least a decent email UI which does not seem to be the case.

I may revisit it another day ;-)

I just noticed something that I had not noticed since I started using the iPhone a week ago. The calendar icon on the home screen changes to say the current date & day of the week.

I have nothing to add but wanted to try posting from my new HTC Mogul. Viewing X5world on it ain't bad and the QWERTY keyboard makes typing easy. Oh yes, EV-DO is fast. I can't wait for EV-DO Rev. A.

What's up with the more expensive rate plans and having to add the data plan. They are just milking money out of everyone!

The rate plans are not more expensive. They are the same as with any other phone.

But yes, you do need a data plan because the visual voicemail uses data. Without the data plan, you wouldn't be notified when you had a new voicemail as the phone does not have a normal voicemail capability like other phones, just the visual voicemail feature.
