It's about the same footprint as my Treo 680 was, but half the thickness.

Here's a good comparison shot next to a RAZR (and it's thinner than the RAZR):

The size of the phone is not a problem its the case sizes that are currently to big. You don't want to scratch the thing so you wind up trying to protect it with these silly cases.

NO, your locked to Cingular for two years, not the phone. You can buy a new phone everyday as long as you stay on Cingular.

But yes, you do need a data plan because the visual voicemail uses data. Without the data plan, you wouldn't be notified when you had a new voicemail as the phone does not have a normal voicemail capability like other phones, just the visual voicemail feature.
My monthly fee dropped $40 per month...so the phone will be free when I'm done.

I was paying $49/mo for unlimited data + $9.00 for text messaging. iPhone plan is $20 for data and includes 200 text messages for free.

I came from a HTC TyTn (unlocked Cingular 8525) w/ Exchange email, 3.5 G service (getting 600-900kbps) and WM6...I thought I would have to keep both phones.

The Tytn is on Ebay right now...NO WAY I could ever go back! The iPhone is AMAZING!!

BTW- The iPhone does not have push, but it will talk to my Exchange 2003 Server and pulls email down every 15 minutes or on demand and I really have not missed push as much as I thought. Apple is rumored to be adding full Exchange support very soon though.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I know there have been some questions about SIM card swapping with the iPhone to other devices. I was able to swap my new iTunes activated SIM card from my iPhone into my Razr (already had AT&T service) and my Razr worked fine. I know some people swap between multiple phones for different uses. I don't know if anyone has tried to put the new SIM card into a blackberry, but it does work on a Razr.

It won't work on a Blackberry, but it will work fine on almost any other AT&T phone. AT&T had posted this at their website. Apparently the iPhone data plan is basically the same as their MediaMax bundle which includes access to their MediaNet portal which is what you have on your RAZR and is also on most of their phones. Blackberrys have a different plan allowing for the push email, and I doubt that would work with the iPhone data plan.

Actually there is no reason why it wont....but you would need to ADD the blackberry plan to your account. I had a HTC Tytn (8525) and used it for a long time with the MediaNet (WAP) plan and had push Exchange. I only recently switched to the $50 ISP plan and honestly there was absolutley no difference!
