I agree with B it has nothing to do with age the only reason there are more deaths in my age bracket then you old people is Darwin has had his chance to work his magic on the older population....

I would equate it this way...every single car accident I have been in (5) has been the fault of a middle aged women driving an SUV (3 rear end collisions, 1 running me off the road, 1 t-boning me at an intersection while running a red light with 4 kids in her suburban) Does that mean that every single women in an SUV is a horrid driver that is going to run into me? Nope

All of you arguing that age is not a factor and that licenses should not be taken away:

1. No one's advocating the removal licenses.
2. In the cases where text messaging causes accidents, most likely involving young fools.

Barry can correct me if I'm wrong, but when he created this thread, he wasn't trying to end all the accidents in this country. He's addressing one category of causes. In that category, it's the younger folk that are typically guilty.

All people who drink aren't roadhazards, all old people aren't either, etc etc.

This thread is like when people say to be careful on teh roads around July 4 etc. Quit overreacting.

Guilty as charged for texting. I try not to do it while moving, but when stuck in traffic I dont see anything wrong with it. I am more quilty of reading texts/emails/pin's while driving.

I am far more likely to get in an accident while walking and texting. I cant count the number of times I almost hit stuff while staring at my phone.

Round here parellel parking isn't part of a driving test. Go figure.

Quit overreacting to the media hype about the dangers of teenage driving. I don't text message while driving. Heck, even a cell phone conversation can wait for me if I even have the slightest doubt about prevailing road or traffic conditions.

Saying teenage drivers are irresponsible drivers is like saying guns kill. Guns don't kill, people do.
